Re: Fantasy Booking: An Experiment - The Forum Books BOA '19

The problem with statements like: "Stuff like Volbeat, Trivium, Killswitch Engage, Ghost, Clutch - just go to Download and leave the metal festivals alone FFS" is that even if you don't like some of the bands it is a bit lacking in credibility/reality to claim that Trivium/KSE aren't metal...

Re: Fantasy Booking: An Experiment - The Forum Books BOA '19

Volbeat are good fun (normally) and massive on the continent thohg they've never really cracked the UK. I'd happily have Manowar or Helloween one night, Sodom (but they're probably not big enough), possibly Lamb of God / Machine Head. As for Gandalf's rant about Download or Reading bands - the first...

Re: Request - New entrance to the camping sites

The solution to that would be to move the Quiet camp! Anyway my experience of Hel was that it wasn't as quiet as some of the other campsites anyway!

Re: Request - New entrance to the camping sites

Moving the drop off point may have been done at the suggestion of security, but it is difficult to see what benefit it has from a security perspective (if they are concerned about someone ramming a vehicle into people would that have been prevented - there was still vehicle access). The biggest prob...

I enjoyed seeing him at Hellfest, but I'm not sure he is really a good fit for Bloodstock if I'm honest...

Re: King 810

If it was the fact that an act wasn't getting booked due to objections from a charity then I would rather ditch the charity. But I don't think it has been an issue. Seriously??? It isn't just any charity, but one that the second stage is named after. If an act can't behave with common human decency...

Re: BOA 2017: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Good:
Aside from the music, the weather, security largely being sensible and friendly, space in the campsites.

Bad:

It did feel busier than previous years without any increase in space (except the new campsite) and facilities.
Queues for toilets got silly at times.
End of Delikate.

Ugly:

Re: 2018

Delighted that Gojira are headlining next year - they've been superb for a number of years and their headline tour this year was awesome.

Nightwish - meh!

Re: BOA 2017 - rate the bands you saw

Friday Ashen Crown - good death metal 7/10 Internal Conflict - 7/10 Devilment - not a massive CoF fan but better than expected 7/10 Soilwork - 6/10 Testament - 7.5/10 Lionize - not my cup of tea at all 3/10 Blind Guardian - much better than I expected and really enjoyed it 8.5/10 Amon Amarth - solid...

Re: Stage Times

Why oh why is there no choice when the headliners are on? OK, it might bump up the crowd a bit for the headliners but surely the point of festivals is offering people choices! Plus it means the Sophie headliners risk being absolutely stupidly rammed with everyone leaving the RJD stage at once....

Re: Bloodstock 2018???

Wouldn't Danzig play as the Misfits now anyway? Now that they all seem to have made friends and stopped sueing each other...or have they fallen out again?
