Re: What Are We Waiting For?

Well I'm genuinely shocked that w/e tickets have sold out. I hope that this doesn't spoil the friendly, small festival atmosphere...

Re: What Are We Waiting For?

Do people really believe it is close to selling out? I'm looking forward to it as ever but take way the headliners and the line up isn't exactly likely to appeal to many DL regulars!

Re: Extra secuirty at bloodstock?

Download this year had longer queues for security but I'm not actually sure that the actual checks were much different to normal. Perhaps they were slightly more thorough on entry to the site and to the arena but nothing majorly different. IIRC there were more police and some were armed. Difficult t...

Re: What Are We Waiting For?

Honestly, Download's lineup this year is one of the worst I've ever seen for a major UK festival, and I really can't see many bands playing that I'd want to see at Bloodstock. You must be looking at a different line up to me! SOAD, Prophets of Rage, FFDP, Mastodon,Sabaton, Red Fang, Baroness, Suici...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

But basically, fuck off with your misinformation and misplaced blame. Why is the economy shit? Why was austerity necessary? Because the last Labour government left it in such a mess. Has it been successful? Absolutely. Has the debt grown hugely in the last 7 years? Yes, it has. Has it grown by more...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

Many of the people that worked on the Pendelinos were the APT E and P Train lot. Led by Kit Spackman (AKA Mr Tilt). They all came from the aerospace sector and ended up working at RTC in Derby. They were then headhunted by Fiat. Even if the TOCs don't own the rolling stock then the leasing companie...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

The last time I looked the NHS and education weren't privatised and there aren't any plans to do so. In fact it was Labour that used PFI to build new schools and hospitals that weren't even needed and has given the country a bill that won't be getting paid off for the next 30 odd years. http://www....

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

Anyone that advocates Nationalisation is either a deluded communist that still believes Das Kapital is relevant (watch Andrew Marr) or wasn't around before the 1990s. Anyone remember British Rail? BS! You don't have to be a communist to believe that nationalisation is certainly necessary for some s...

I'd settle for Sodom being added to this year's line up ;-)

Re: Next Announcement

Don't think that it is any secret that Ghost have been through a few line up changes - it was really noticeable on the recent tour that the bass player is really small (and probably female) compared to the previous bassist(s)! I don't see having Ghost is any different to Alice Cooper/Twisted Sister/...

Re: BOA 2016 rate the bands you saw

Sublime Eyes - 7 good start to the festival Sumer and Psykosis 5 - OK Phil Campbell - difficult to rate. Didn't think the singer was up to much and made me realise how much we will miss Lemmy Gloryhammer 9 Evil Scarecrow 8 CoC 3 very disappointing compared to last time I saw them Venom 1 tedious Twi...
