Re: Sunday Special Guest

Given that AE are a load of rubbish and I will have to endure them open for Kreator next week I hope they don't get booked...

Re: What does Bloodstock need?

^would be absolutely brilliant. Electric Wizard, Draconian or Sleep would be another option, but with the former doing a couple of shows this year, draconian doing doom over london, and the latter playing desertfest I don't see it. Conan would demolish as well if they could be booked. They're so goo...

Re: Sunday Special Guest

At the moment I've only got a seated ticket...He does have a way with promotion! All his albums come out in like 6/7 different formats it seems these days, and usually does VIP deals with his shows. Special event - Play Terria in full...

Re: What does Bloodstock need?

At the moment we've got death, prog, thrash, power, female fronted, commercial stuff, and black metal. So to cover all bases we need a solid doom act, (subrosa for the tent!), some trad metal and some grindcore. Don't like power metal, but it does need another band to be balanced, and another female...

Re: Sunday Special Guest

It won't be Devin alas, he's said he's taking a year off after the royal albert hall show :( Plus I'd hope he'd been seen as a headliner by now  If there's anyone who deserves to take a break it's definitely Devin Townsend. I'm so glad I managed to sort a ticket to the albert hall show. If he ...

Fair enough. Would be nice to see them on the bill though at least, quality live act.

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

last night - Behemoth - cracking performance as ever. Decapitated - meh, pretty boring for a DM live act. Grand Magus - someone tell them what year this is. Winterfylleth - only caught 10 minutes, but they were great as ever, they're so heavy but really hypnotic as well. After not listening to a who...

Re: Sunday Special Guest

At the gates killed it last week, and they're the only band I can think of that I like which are big enough for special guest and wouldn't go down better in the sophie tent like Electric Wizard, My Dying Bride, Autopsy etc. Two power metal special guests would be a bit meh to me, but if they got a g...

Re: Trivium.....guess that's me on the pint list...again

Bought my early bird ticket 2/3 days before the announcement. 9 bands I wanted to see, and thought because of Rob Zombie there was no way the third headliner would be anything other than a great proper Bloodstock band. Trivium would'nt have been so bad if they hadn't got RZ, two bands that just don'...

Re: What does Bloodstock need?

post-rock and shoegaze are completely different things. Shoegaze is guitar driven music, usually within noise-rock or dreampop that primarily focuses on using lots of effects and pedals to create blissful/heavy walls of noise - because musicians tend too be looking at their pedals a lot while playi...

Re: What does Bloodstock need?

It was supposed to be what the festival is lacking in. But it seems people are probably just voting for their favourite sub genres. Like it really needs more Death and Thrash when half the line up consists of those genres. Well so far there's no doom and only one "female fronted met...

Re: "Non-Bloodstock" bands you would accept

Steel Panther would be a lot of fun. Didn't know them before Wacken, they had me laughing all the way through their set How did you not know them before Wacken? They're all over the metal press lol read "had never bothered to listen to them" Not saying I want them to play by any stretch, ...
