Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Brutal Assault. Talked about in on the Gigs subsection.

Next might be Bong at the Black Heart on the 25th, if can afford a trip to London before payday, then definitely going to see Abduction at the Dev on 5th September.

Re: BOA 2020?

Would want Mercyful Fate, but that won't happen and I'll end up going elsewhere to see them.

reusable cups is a great idea at the European fests and I'm glad they are doing the same.

Knew they would clash Mayhem and Asphyx, glad I didn't get tickets for that.

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last - 8th time seeing Dead Can Dance at Hammersmith Apollo last night. Worst one so far. Brendan was so off key it was painful to watch. I don't think he can't sing anymore, he still has a powerful voice but yesterday was not his day. Next: 9th time seeing Dead Can Dance also at Hammersmith Apollo...

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

I was expecting the Encoffination gig to be empty considering I am Morbid, Vital Remains, Sadist and Atrocity are playing on the same day Must admit I was torn between the two but Morbidfest is twice the price so I've gone with the cheaper option. Hopefully it won't but if it gets cancelled, I know...

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last: Midnight + Hellripper + Aggressive Perfector + Heavy Sentence a couple of weeks ago. Brilliant gig and I picked up an awesome long sleeve Hellripper tee for £15. Kinda puts those Manowar prices in to perspective!! Hellripper are my favourite new band (or artist really) at the moment. He seems...

Boring, boring episode. With 5 left I thought something more might start happening.

So have really been all their albums since Pestapokalypse. Merely decent at best, dull at worst. And of course their setlists mostly reflect the post-pest material, so never enjoyed them live as much as I could have.

Re: Last Gig/Next Gig Thread

Last - Anaal Nathrakh and Akercocke. Barring a few tech issues during the former it was a cracker as always. Don't think I can afford Ulcerate on Saturday, let alone Manowar unfortunately. Next for me will be Encoffination on 2nd May, followed hopefully by Dead Can Dance on the 4th or 5th of May if ...

Re: Next Announcement

They're really not. Both Brainstorm and The Ocean could headline Sophie for sure, but the others are nowhere near too big. The argument was about the decline in quality of the bands on the Sophie stage apart from the headlines though, we're not just talking about bands that could headline, as the S...

Re: Next Announcement

Yeah, that's pretty big. So am I just totally out of the loop, or are they really not a Bloodstock (or just a proper metal, seeing as that's not what bloodstock band means anymore) kind of a band?

Re: Next Announcement

Other than having heard the name I know nothing about Architects, I couldn't name a song or album, or even tell you what subgenre they are. Are they post-metal, deathcore, djent, metalcore, hardcore, prog? I genuinely have no idea. They're so far off my radar I couldn't tell you whether they play 50...

Re: Last gig ticket you bought?

Anaal Nathrakh and Akercocke on Sunday. I've lost count of how many times I've seen AN live now, which is pretty cool for a band who said they'd never play live when I was getting into their first album.

Re: Next Announcement

Three of Amon Amarth, Devin Townsend, Behemoth, Helloween and Megadeth would be pretty good

Which means it won't be them.
