Re: The (speculative) Weather Thread

Accuweather's showing as cloudy with a few showers all weekend. Still think it's a bit early to know for certain what's going to happen. Trying to stay optimistic, but will find my raincoat out this weekend and pack a towel as well :)

Re: Excited?

If you got one near you, go check out go outdoors. You'll need to sign up for a discount card there, but it really makes the difference when you can get a decent tent at half price Yeah, that's our destination :) Got an old card which is most likely expired, but guess it's easier to get a new one w...

Re: Excited?

Booked tomorrow afternoon off to go tent shopping with the boyfriend. (Ours didn't survive the storm last year). Might be a good idea to start stocking up on booze as well. Hopefully the supermarkets don't limit the amount you can buy in one go otherwise we'll be doing quite a few trips

Re: How do you mak Jagermeister refreshing?

As long as it's cold I'd guess most things. Wouldn't fancy drinking straight from a bottle of Jager which had been in my tent in the heat all day :hurl:

Re: Cooking!

Had baked garlic salmon with spicy kale and butternut squash mash last night. Was rather nice, but does anyone have any tips on how to make the butternut squash mash a bit less 'stringy' (for want of a better word). Was considering mixing it in with regular potatoes or using a hand blender to make i...

Re: Trivial Grumblings

Followed both of your advice and apparently the police want to speak to me...think it's probably re: the stapler ransom. Just kidding :) He eventually turned up at 3pm (start time 9am) so I didn't have chance to put any of your *ahem* excellent advice into action. Think I'll just passive-aggressivel...

Re: What beers are you bringing?

Even their scrumpy is really nice. I did myself on too much frosty jacks in my youth, and avoided cider for years. But Westons brought me back. This is throwing ideas into the mix, especially if we get a good change of weather. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, good cider while in a field[/quote] I think the only 'pr...

Re: What beers are you bringing?

Think it'll be a few crates of whatever lagers are on offer at the supermarkets this weekend. Also, will probably invest in a few boxes of Westons' Wyld Wood cider

non spoilable foods Dry foods all the way. I think asda do some good stuff, if you don't mind going with a veggie option, and have a hexiburner to cook on I packed up the big items last night, and I have a ridiculous amount of room. Re: Trivial Grumblings

Only my third post and already grumbling...my boss is going on holiday for two weeks as of Monday leaving me to look after everything (there's only two of us in the team) and for the past three days he's been 'working from home'. He was supposed to be in this morning to let me know if there's anythi...

Re: My bulgin bag

First post on the forum so hope that it goes through and doesn't think I'm a spambot...I tend to take soap with me and use bottles of water to wash my hands after going to the loos. Antibacterial goop is all well and good, but after you've been using it for a couple of days accidentally putting you...
