The band have been on top form again the past few years and are due to release a new album next year so will presumably be touring quite heavily. Would be great to have some good old-fashioned prog metal at BOA.

BOA 2018 - Rate the Bands You Saw
This seems to be a yearly thread, so I'll kick it off while things are still fresh... Thursday - Fire Red Empress: 4/10 (Bland) - Skiltron: 6/10 (Good fun, but the sound was iffy and their songs were very samey) Friday - Turbyne 8/10 (Find of the weekend for me, fantastic discovery) - Onslaught 6/10...

Re: BOA 2018: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.
My third BOA, and overall it was a excellent weekend. Good: - Most of the bands I wanted to see impressed, particularly Nightwish who were the band of the weekend for me - Seeings bands that caused some grumblings when they were announced (Kamelot and Mr. Big in particular) absolutely smashing it an...
Tremonti
Mark Tremonti will be releasing his fourth solo album in 2018 while Alter Bridge have some down time. His solo work is much more metal-influenced than his work with either Alter Bridge or Creed, and I think he'd go down well at BOA.

Stratovarius
The legendary power metal band have only played the festival once before, and that was over ten years ago now. Time for a return I think and they've been on a good run of form of late with some excellent albums since Timo Tolkki's departure.

Re: Sonata Arctica
Yes please. Always a great live act despite an inconsistent discography. There's still no-one else out there that really sounds like them.

Re: Children Of Bodom
I'd be happy to see them booked as I've only seen them once before. They don't seem to be all that popular these days though - not really sure why.
Adagio
Heavy progressive metal from France. They've been on a fairly lengthy hiatus recently but are back now with a new album that is just great!

Kamelot
I'd say it was time this band got an invite to Bloodstock. They've toured with Nightwish a few times in the past so would be a natural fit for the Sunday. They're always fantastic live and with a new album due out next year I'm sure they'll be on the road.

Re: Delain
Another vote for Delain. They always deliver live
Re: Threshold
they froze out the others from songwriting I presume that's why Pete Morten left then? While I appreciate that Groom and West run the show, it seems a little churlish to stop the other members contributing. A little variety is always good, and Morten's Siren Sky is one of my favourite Threshold tunes
