I heard someone mention this on the Facebook group earlier. I always assumed they had a keyboard player. But rubbish if not and all the keys are on backing tracks

Re: Next Announcement

I wonder what the likelihood of getting Abbath in all his drunken glory in the Sophie tent is? On that note do we reckon the next announcement will be filling in the blanks on the main stage or the first meaningful Sophie announcement? Abbath headlining the tent would be unbelievably good! Can't se...

Re: Metal 2 the Masses 2019

If I remember correctly, they were drafted in as a last minute replacement of another band who pulled out, so maybe that's why they weren't great. Can't comment on them in general though as I've never seen them. Like Gandalf I was watching Gymir instead!

Re: Next Announcement

And the Wacken organisers havent been trying to wind people up about the announcement. To be fair I don't think the organisers would've been so arrogant about it had people not overreacted so much in the first place. It seems like they've taken the 'we'll give back as good as we get' approach now. ...

Re: Next Announcement

Yeah I agree, on the whole the lineup looks good for me this year. There's definitely a dip in the middle of Saturday where I have nothing, but there are still 2 full stages to be announced so I'm not getting too disillusioned about it yet. I know Bloodstock do their usual announcements on Tuesdays ...

Re: Next Announcement

The whole situation is becoming unbearable now. People on both sides are acting like idiots and I think everyone just needs to accept the decision and get on with their lives. The overreacting is pathetic, as is the ideology that if you don't like it you should keep quiet. I have no problem with peo...

Re: Next Announcement

Its odd that this bill has more I like than there's been for a few years but they're all on Friday and Sunday so far, nothing at all that I'm a big fan of on Saturday Pretty much the same here, other than Anthrax. Think there may still be a gap for 4th/5th down on Saturday though which could hopefu...

Re: Next Announcement

Scorpions are definitely a metal band. Not particularly heavy in today's terms but definitely metal. In my opinion both Scorpions and Parkway Drive are metal bands, but just completely different styles. Either way the whole 'metal or not metal' debate is asinine

Re: Next Announcement

An hour and a half set which lasted for 40 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFbCAVGyW6Q Did I say they were shit? Well I'll say it again. They were shit. Usually agree with most of what you say on these forums, but that's a blatant lie. That video is only half of the songs they played. The ...

Oh yeah, I completely agree. My comment was more just a reaction to general reaction everywhere. Facebook is embarrassing at the moment, much prefer reading these forums forums than social media.

Re: Next Announcement

Jesus wept, we all knew it was coming and it's hardly the end of the world. Before this everyone was saying how it was the strongest lineup in years, and an hour and half of one band you don't like shouldn't change that. Whether you like them or not they're most definitely a metal band, and while it...

Same. Unfortunately I have a feeling that Parkway will get an announcement to themselves and then we'll have to wait another couple of weeks for anything else

Re: Unleash the Archers

Maybe they will announce them with Parkway Drive to offset the kick back from the traditionalists? That sounds very plausible. I do think they're going to have to announce something alongside PD to avoid a massive shitstorm. I feel people on this forum are a lot more balanced/open-minded and even h...

Re: Next Announcement

I've given Parkway Drives last album a listen and watched the You tube footage of their set at Download 2018. They are ok, but I'll probably watch them for a bit. I wasn't a fan of Nightwish but I actually enjoyed their set last year. But that's the part I enjoy about BOA, you may enjoy a band you ...
