Re: Next announcement

It's the music that has changed, they went from being a Power/Symphonic Metal band with elements of Folk to being what could be described as Disney Metal, but with less of the Metal. This describes why I can't stand Nightwish better than I could put it. There are better power metal bands that could...

Re: Next announcement

Only band in that list I'm interested in seeing in the latest announcement is Venom Inc, but not to the level I'd have paid to see them at their own gig.

Re: Next announcement

I wonder with Download if they struggle because as a festival (nothing to do with their line up) they have been a bit rubbish last few years (although they were a lot better organised this year) and this put people off. I have some friends who refuse to go because of how it has been organised and ra...

Re: Next announcement

Problem is you can compare it to other festivals on the continent, and when they book 20 bands you want to see and bloodstock only has 3 and costs half as much again, it's a bit hard to justify going just to see bands you wouldn't ordinarily see. At Netherlands Death Fest I don't know a good deal o...

Re: Next announcement

Part of why I go to festivals is to see bands I wouldn't normally see, sometimes they suck and sometimes they convert me to an all out fan, but its rare I don't have fun watching them, even if it is just to take the mickey out of them afterwards. There are bands I'd rather be set on fire than watch,...

Re: Next announcement

I'm fairly sure Devildriver aren't, only Emperor so far. My guess for the other two? Opeth and Dimmu. The fact that they are waiting for the new year means they probably won't be anyone special. Definitely not Helloween, who are far too good and would probably be announced already. Maybe Sabaton, b...

Re: Next announcement

Saw ST at Download this year, was good fun, I'm looking forward to see them again next year at Bloodstock. Kamelot will depend if the new album is good or not for me as I'm guessing they will want to play a lot of it. Mr Big is a real name from my distant past, not heard anything from them in decade...

Re: Next announcement

Fozzy I have less than zero interest in, will actively be avoiding that stage as much as possible while they are playing. Doro isn't my cup of tea, but might see what the fuss is while she is performing. Septic Flesh and Bloodbath are both solid choices for me, but then I really like the heavier stu...

Re: Next announcement

I don't mind a rap band playing but they need to actually be decent or at the very least entertaining to watch. I wouldn't be a festival promoter, must be next to impossible balancing acts you can afford/get vs. nostalgia vs. successful acts vs. credible acts (with the latter two generating most of ...

Re: Next announcement

I really like Memoriam as I grew up listening to Bolt Thrower and they are more of the same. Might be a bit old school for some but a good retro vibe for me.
