Re: Next Announcement

Taake will be an excellent hour or two in the tent.

Not sure on the others - seems to be a mix of more core / emo bands and Raging Speedhorn from some pub back room ?

Gamma Ray are playing festival shows... A bit of decent power metal would go a long way to balancing out the po-faced metalcore bands

Re: Next Announcement

A post from a user on another forum "Exactly. It seems to me that even though it's a metal festival the majority of Bloodstock fans aren't quite open to Metalcore. Each to their own of course but metal is metal regardless of a sub genre label." I must admit, my inner arsehole really enjoy...

Re: Next Announcement

It is certainly out of order for the festival to start name calling people who criticize the line-up, but I'm sure there were some equally unsavoury comments made about Parkway Drive and the festival organizers on social media on Saturday night. Maybe those of us who don't like Parkway Drive should...

Re: Next Announcement

The TROO METAL internet crying brigade is out. Sorry to tell you but music evolves. They are the heaviest band out of the three headliners on a heavy metal festival and I can bet just like Ghost they will pull a huge crowd who will love them. Give them a chance, if not go get a beer, get some food ...

Re: PARKWAY DRIVE - CONFIRMED AS BLOODSTOCK 2019 SATURDAY NIGHT HEADLINER

I fear we may soon see some splinters from the bottom of the -core barrel. How much to Bury Tomorrow charge these days ?

Contender for the worst day of bands Bloodstock has ever booked so far.

You could say the same for Sunday last year...

Back under your bridge, heretic. At least Nightwish are a metal band.

Re: Next Announcement

Well there we have it, arguably the worst headliner they've ever announced. There better be something decent on in the Sophie stage that night. So much beer ! I imagine a band like PD will shift some day tickets ? Doesn't seem like the kind of band that'd attract a four-day crowd, given the rest of...

Manowar on an as-yet unannounced fourth stage ? Doing a special "all the good bits from our discography" set ?

Re: Next Announcement

I'm not keen on Parkway Drive either but I fail to see how a band that is that high up the bill on the Wacken line-up can be considered "not metal enough" for Bloodstock :? Or is Wacken not considered a metal festival anymore? They're not a metal band is the thing - Think about Eminem hea...

Re: Next Announcement

Tesseract are a mid size band at best at BOA and shouldn't be as high up as they are. It just reeks of cheap filler It's a conspiracy - throw in some filler (Tesseract, Code Orange, the looming Parkway Drive threat) to ensure that the bar gets decent traffic. If you just have great bands stacked up...

Re: Next Announcement

Swallow The Sun are alright, but surely would be much better with a high slot in the tent. I've seen Swallow the Sun in the open air before now - their gothy-doomy thing doesn't really work in the sunshine - it needs dark and a decent fog machine & light show. Excellent music mind, but a strang...

Re: Next Announcement

I'd be very happy with Megadeth, even - they're a metal band. I'd be happy with Delain Just to be sure, you're not suggesting that Delain should headline are you? :? Certainly not big enough to headline BOA... Just stating bands I'd rather over some emo group. I'd happily take some random tiny euro...

Re: Next Announcement

Powerwolf's UK tour ends on the 22nd. That would be my preferred option, but surely we won't be lucky enough to get 3 melodic headliners? Not big enough in the UK. Maybe big enough to be special guest, perhaps. I don't have much interest in them though. One of those #hopesandprayers type things, pe...
