Re: Next Announcement

I doubt I would know a song by them. But I know they are one of those whiney Emo bands that was popular with the kids about ten years ago. There seems to be a strange resurgence of these emoscreamocore bands going on. Either that, or they're just cropping up in places I never used to see them. Wah ...

Re: What should happen with Brexit?

. I would say it's not simply a case of people not liking the result and trying to get it changed after the fact (though, there is that too). I would say it is more to do with other points: 1. The bus / the lies / etc 2. People not fully realising what they were voting for and seemingly changing th...

Re: Next Announcement

Haven't heard of either are they in Kerrang ? It`s gonna be Danzig, and even if it is some teenage knuckle dragging false-metal core Kerrang band i`ll be singing Danzig throughout the whole set And just once more Danzig That'd be fun to organise. Though I'd change Danzig for "sing Iron Maiden ...

Re: Next Announcement

If they can balance out the emoscreamo bands / comedy 'black metal' bands on the main stage with good stuff in the tent, they can crack on making a rubbish poster.

Putting Dimmu under Scorpions is bizarre, truly odd.

Re: Next Announcement

Within Temptation opening the main stage so they can headline in Germany later in the day confirmed then. Black Wizard has been hinting at this for weeks  To be fair, helicopter / jet from Festival A to Festival B would be in the highest tradition of the genre. Get Brucey to take them on the M...

Re: What should happen with Brexit?

It was right to have a referendum given how much the EEC/EC/EU has changed since the last vote This is fine. I agree that the country's relationship should be open to periodic reassessment, particularly as most of the electorate didn't get to decide the first time around. However, it would have bee...

Re: What should happen with Brexit?

Leave in some way - Not May's deal, which is an horrific fudge by a professional politician so far out of her depth it's kind of funny. Get in some private sector lawyers, advisors, & merger men to sort it out. The EU sent professionals on their side - the UK sent the kind of people that take Tw...

Re: Next Announcement

Think I`d rather a KK Downing spoken word as the last headliner than Within Temptation or what is passing as Slayer nowadays (Dare I say the KK Book is a fine read) Just get Judas Priest back for the Saturday, I certainly didn't hear "Electric Eye" "The Sentinel" "A Touch o...

Re: The food thread

Since we got back from BOA this year, the mrs & myself have been making that "half a loaf of bread full of chilli / garlic bread / cheese" thing. Certainly saves on the washing up, and the amount of flavour is perfect cat repellent ! Can't make it in a slow cooker, but it is a one-pot ...

Re: Next Announcement

I think the organisers are starting to put their interests first before the festival to be honest, the fact that they're more concerned with selling their own brand of gym gear than BOA merch, the fact that the strongman comp is getting bigger every year despite pulling in weak crowds and getting l...

Re: Next Announcement

Just had a listen to code orange....... Oh dear no. Rest of the announcements are awesome Showing how much I happily manage to avoid their kind of rubbish, I didn't even know that Roadrunner Records were still in business ! Very much surprised that there's not a neck tattoo amongst them, too, they ...

Re: SCORPIONS CONFIRMED AS BLOODSTOCK 2019 SUNDAY HEADLINER

Great announcement - Scorpions will be a perfect Sunday night band - hope they go for a heavier set without too much of the ballading though ! I'd be disappointed if they didn't slip a couple of slower ones in; Always Somewhere, Still Loving You or When The Smoke is Going Down rather than Winds of ...

Re: Next Announcement

I don't think it's a case of being bigger than Priest here, more that Scorps are bigger elsewhere than here so offers wouldn't be as competitive as those from gigs in EU and US - plus they seem to have a grand view of themselves: they talked of being insulted by an offer to headline second stage at...
