Imagine if someone chucked current Arch Enemy and Architects in a blender. It's truly generic -core that only gets any attention because the vocalist is female.

Jinjer and Gloryhammer also confirmed.

It's a bit underwhelming, isn't it ? nothing to really froth about, nothing to really jump and spend money about ?

Re: Epica

Epica are brilliant live, you get a lot more of the 'metal' out of them onstage than you might under ten layers of Latin and choirs on the albums  I do think their older songs are far better live, particularly 'Consign to Oblivion'. The live version from their Paris show a couple of years ago ...

Re: Delain

Black Wizard wrote:'We Are the Others' sucks though, so I won't be posting a link to that song.

Also to add - that song is literally about Sophie Lancaster !

they'd be perfect in the tent - and they're giving it up after one more record, so not much time to get them in !

Re: Tarja UK Shows - March 2020

Her solo stuff isn't great, and I haven't tried out the new album yet, but still tempted - I could listen to that woman read out a shopping list for a model railway enthusiast's duller second cousin.

Re: Next Announcement

I look forward to next year but am a little worried about announcements I mean it`s being touted as twenty years and you really hope its a holy freakin F`k announcement but feel more worried its going to be something hugely disappointing, a couple of metalcore bands who no-one wants and someone who...

Seconded - who wouldn't love a good long Saxon playing the hits set !

Even the arms-folded-fest black metal fans will sing-along to 'Princess of the Night' or 'Rock the Nations'

Gamma Ray

Fun, heavy, loud, sing-along METAL

One of those bands (like Powerwolf) that work hard, get a crowd into it, and if you don't know the words at the start of the song, you know the chorus by the end of the solo

Re: Next Announcement

I'll take FFDP over KSE any day of the week, FFDP actually have a handful of tracks I like. Same. As a bargain bin Pantera, their kinda fun. I love the high expectations on this forum  That said, I have prepared various Picards for use when she inevitably announces some brocore rubbish for one...

Re: BOA 2019: Rate the bands

I was in Midgard for all 3 main stage headliners as none of them were to my taste. For Sabaton and Scorpions it was fucking dead, for Parkway Drive there were tons of people in the camp partying. Given that by accounts iv heard Parkway Drive got an alright sized crowd despite how busy the campsite ...
