Re: Obligatory weather topic
So finally some agreement from BBC and the met office - wet Friday then generally OK. Assuming it has been a dry week as they suggest hopefully the ground will just absorb it and all good. Still going to need to pack something more than a t-shirt though.

Was looking forward to them, hopefully the replacement is good whoever it may be.

Re: Camp Loners & Newbies 2019
How lively is Camp Loner? I've just finished antibiotics and was expecting to be fully fit by Thursday, but I still feel crap. All hope is not lost but can't help thinking this could be a sober/early night 'festival' and maybe I'd be better in Ragnarok. Assuming I don't relapse and have to cancel th...

Re: First Timer Questions
Glad to hear that varangian as having put tent, sleeping bag and chair in my very big bag there doesn't seem to be much room left for beer as well as clothes.
Never tried mead, won't be here either as I'm only a pleb

Re: First Timer Questions
Haha, good point Gandalf! Though when it comes to things where taste is involved what you call shit I may like, so it's not so clear cut.
The cider options should be good but not sure I can manage a whole weekend while trying to avoid spending any longer than I have to in the toilets...

I have no idea but it may well be the same, in which case it's worth asking what Kaltenberg is like as I've never seen/tried it?

Re: Camp Loners & Newbies 2019
So as a general plan: Look for flag, find space somewhere not far from it and put tent up so space can't be stolen, take chair and drink to flag and see who's about? I was thinking it was an actual camp (group of tents) rather than a meeting place, though not sure how that would work as it sounds li...

Re: Camp Loners & Newbies 2019
How do later arrivals know where camp loner ends and 'normal' camping begins? Is it hoped/expected that most people will head for midgard then start near the entrance of Valhalla so that's why you head for the back corner?

Re: Camp Loners & Newbies 2019

I don't do facebook or whatsapp (if I did I'd probably not be coming as a loner...) so I'll just see you there.

Re: Obligatory weather topic
No offense to meteorologists but predicting the weather for a small island is by their own admission near impossible so not sure why they bother this far in advance. Maybe this time Wednesday next week I'll believe them enough to decide whether to take a coat on the coach up based on their predictio...

Re: First Timer Questions
Big tent and even bigger crate-friendly bag secured, the only question remaining is how long 160+ miles will take on a coach including an unknown number of stops.
Anyone like to guess?

Re: First Timer Questions
Is a generous 3 man tent (2 x 3.8 metres) too big for Camp Loner?
