Re: BOA 2020?

Think there's a good chance Epica'll and/or Arch Enemy will be back as the token female-fronted mainstage band (AE played in 2017 though, so might be too soon for them). Hoping we'll get one or more of the following: Korpiklaani, Ensiferum, Finntroll, Moonsorrow. Oh, and an appearance by Kalmah is p...

Re: BOA 2019: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Good: ⋅ Mead! Everywhere mead! I spent a lot more than I meant to, and drank a lot more than I probably should have, but when it's as readily available as that, my wallet doth open! ⋅ Thought it was a consequence of arriving later than usual, but apparently the Thursday que...

Re: Next Announcement

I was in the Rock Soc tent for their performance and they seemed to have a pretty big audience from that angle. However, the Rock Soc tent was almost deserted, which is pretty rare, so I guess most weekenders headed back to camp, and the day ticketers made up the bulk of the audience. My own opinion...

Re: Next Announcement

Dunno about overall attendance, but weekend camper numbers looked to be down this year. None of the campsites were full, and that's with one less field vs. last year.

Re: Dimmu Borgir cancel

If you moved Eluveitie they'd have to pack up the hurdygurdy 15 minutes earlier than they've been preparing for. Nobody wants that. :P

Sorry to hear that, teetowl. Unfortunately the forums are not frequented by the festival organisers, so your message is unlikely to be seen by those in charge. All we can do as fellow festival goers is direct you to the Contact Us page which you've probably already seen: https://www.bloodstock.uk.co...

Re: Dimmu Borgir cancel

Thinking about it, I doubt they'll move bands around -- lanyards will be printed now (presumably), and rather than reprinting Sunday's page and manually swapping them out (doable, but time consuming and expensive), it'd be easier to get a band in to replace them, and just make it known that Dimmu's ...

Re: Clashfinder

Thanks for adding the signing tent times. A note of caution for people who have synced their highlights to their calendars though -- some highlights have jumped to the signing tent entries, so e.g. Rotting Christ on the Sophie stage became unselected, and the signing tent entry became selected inste...

Balls. That's one of my favourite bands this weekend. :(

Still, if they have to pull out for medical reasons, that's understandable.

Never had much of a problem with wasps at Bloodstock before. Maybe because I drink my booze instead of wearing it. :P

If anyone asks where I am, I'm at the bar.

(I'm also bringing 4L of homebrew, so if I'm not at the bar, I'm passed out in my tent...)

Re: Next Announcement

If only there was a tried and tested method of communicating something to a wide audience without requiring (but not excluding) the use of smartphones. We could call it something like the world wide web, and people could connect to it using any number of different clients in order to consume the inf...
