Ah fuck I forgot about that. I'll probably be there after Gurt then.

Ditto, although I may send baking with the Noodle if he's able to accomodate me this year?

Re: Best / Worst BOA line-ups

Worst was 2009 IIRC, whichever year it was, was the year where all the bands I actually enjoyed where on on the Sunday and there where not a lot of them.

Best was 2015, with a large number of varied bands I liked. 2016 had the same number, but was almost all doom.

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

The single odious Labour candidate nobody likes finds themselves without a seat. This isn't strictly true as the party election material ranks their candidates in order they want them returned (usually in order of seniority) and urge voters to vote in that order. However, that's not a requirement, ...

Or just as bad "St. Helens", as in with Yank punctuation.

Similarly pronounching the H or the first E in that name is just wrong, as I know well as a native :P

Re: Next Announcement

I've also seen it argued that "Glam Metal" should be on that list, as it's sufficiently different from the others, and that would adjust the numbers slightly. I've further seen some people argue that Grunge is a form of metal, but I've never been convinced. That said, as it's closer to the...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

OK, time to convince Noodle! PR is not just a single system, but a range of them, each with their own merits & flaws. So, here's how I'd do it. 1. Parlement via Single Transferable Vote. Under STV, several adjacent consituancies (typically 5 in a city, 3 in the countryside) would join together t...

Re: Next Announcement

OK, so I came up a while back with teh following classicication system a while back. This devides metal into a few broad catagories. It ignores theme, style, etc, and get's down to broad catagorisations: Streight Metal (i.e. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest) Death Metal Thrash Metal Doom Metal Power Metal ...

They're on the list of 37 bands (and conting) to check out!

FWIW, there's only 15 bands on my "definately skip" list of bands I know I don't like, although 13 of those are on the RJD...
