Re: Use of Referendums

You could make the same arguments about elections. Especially with the shitty system we have where tactical voting is actively encouraged. Yeah. If the public are trusted to choose between long and complex election manifestos then they should be trusted on virtually any referendum question. Many MP...

Re: Use of Referendums

I think you're asking the wrong question (which, ironically was the problem with the EU referendum). The issue is not what percentage or ratio is required for the result to be legally binding. The issue is the question needs to be properly framed and actually have had some forethought behind it. I ...

Use of Referendums

I wouldn't want the Brexit chaos to make people think that referendums are a bad idea. I think they are essential to democracy but they should have certain limits.

Re: Trump President Terror Thread MAGA MAGA MAGA CUCK CUCK

Why do Americans think their Second Ammendment justifies private gun ownership? "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Millions of households having rifles and pistols is not a regula...

Three years later!

Now Scotland is just 51% for staying with England but that could obviously change quite a bit either way.

Re: Twitter

I used to think forums distorted communication but Twitter is much worse. It seems designed to bring out the worst in human nature and is full of people making snap judgements.
