Re: Download Festival 2020

Is it me or is booking SOAD financial suicide? They haven't released anything from the studio in 14 years and by the look of it, they don't plan to anytime soon. It doesn't work that way. They still have a large number of people that will go and see them. If they can shift tickets (and I suspect th...

Re: Within Temptation/Evanescence

I'm amazed Evanescence are big enough to co-headline this Their debut album was inexplicably popular, selling a mind boggling 17 million copies. Quadruple platinum in the UK. Not bad for a one hit wonder band! In comparison, Within Temptation haven't even had a gold record in the UK yet. Either way...

From what I've heard, they're dedicating the whole of next year to Demons & Wizards.

Re: Unleash the Archers

Big yes from me. At the festival this year, Vicky asked me to pick just one band that I wanted to see next year, and I went for Unleash The Archers. One of the best live acts in metal at the moment.

Re: Use of Referendums

Referendums should, broadly speaking, (virtually) never be binding. Legally binding or not, it's virtually impossible for a government to press ahead with a policy when the majority has voted for something else. Cameron could have said "yeah, but it was only advisory - we'll stay in the EU&quo...

Oddly, I was talking to him about that at Bloodstock. He just says he can't be arsed with the forum any more.

Re: BOA 2019: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

The good : * The bands. A much better mainstage lineup for my tastes than in many previous years (although the lower stages weren't as good for me this year). * The people. Always good to catch up with those I generally only see once a year. The bad : * The cups. I saw them and thought it was fanta...

Re: Bloodstcok Bingo - All new 2020 edition

A pint is not sufficient motivation for me to hope that I win. I hope most of these don't happen. But I fear they will:

At The Gates
Beast In Black
Code Orange
Dakesis
Gloryhammer
Hatebreed
Mercyful Fate
Opeth
Sodom
The Vintage Caravan
