Well, no. Dodd had the third biggest selling single from the '60s ("Tears" from 1965). But that's very different from being the third biggest selling artist of the decade.

Re: Clashfinder

Saturday really is a shitshow. And I guess I'll be skipping Xentrix, given that they clash with Control The Storm.

Re: Twitter

If you have to split your message into seven parts, then you're using the wrong website to convey your message. Very much this. It's a terrible platform for virtually anything. Microblogging is a horrible fad, and people are having to find way around that (splitting a post over multiple messages, p...

Re: Next Announcement

Control The Storm I saw at BOA a few years ago, I like that style but thought they were awful, I remember them doing a horrible cover of Madonna's Frozen. Correct. I love the band, but the last time they played was with their first singer, who frankly just wasn't good enough. My review of the show ...

I guess you just have shitty musical tastes ;-) For me, it's the best Bloodstock lineup in years.

Re: Bloodstock Quiz

I just made this quiz to guess all the main stage bands throughout the festival's history. Hopefully it's more accurate than Bloodstock's own History page! https://www.sporcle.com/games/themasterofpop/bloodstock-festival-2005-2018 Well that's embarrassing. I had a complete blank, and only managed 5...

Re: LIST TIME! Definitely / Likely / Maybe / Avoid.

If you don't check out bands... how will you ever find out new bands? Haha People's preferences are what they are. I don't see the appeal in paying a lot of money for a festival, only to spend it sat in the campsites talking and drinking. But plenty of other people get great enjoyment from doing ju...

This shouldn't even be a consideration. Ross The Boss all the way. Seriously. He's been my live show of the year for 2 of the last 3 years.

It's very much the latter, sadly. I too was unaware of any of these bands before the announcement. Having now listened to them, none of them are for me. Bloodred Hourglass sounded OK for a bit until the vocals kicked in.

Re: Next Announcement

if people are criticizing BOA for booking big bands and failing to fill the undercard, how is Amplified any better? It's not, and that's precisely why I haven't gone to Amplified yet. They have typically 3 medium sized name bands and an undercard filled with underground bands. Which is fine to a po...

Re: Themed stages

They are now at the stage that they are booking bands such as Judas Priest and the Scorpions that cost upwards of £1M each. No they don't. Yes, they're very expensive, almost certainly the most expensive bands to ever play Bloodstock. But they're not being paid 7 figures (I've been told the actual ...

I do feel that the overall level of the bands playing (headliners aside) is far lowerthan previously....oris that just me getting old and grumpy No, I think you're right. I can only assume it's because they've biased the budget towards getting bigger bands for the main stage, so they have less left...
