Re: Next Announcement
I'd heard of Broken Teeth, Feed the Rhino, Fallujah, Hark and Cambion tbf. I'd still see you're in the minority in terms of festival goers though, and even you haven't heard of Forever Still. Heh. Forever Still were one of the few on that list that I did know. I'm guessing to some extent it's a reg...

(yeah, don't sound great)
That video has parental warning for explicit lyrics. Really? How would anyone know?

Re: Next Announcement
Book bands Metal Hammer think are shite, might end up with some brilliant bands considering their opinions  I genuinely used to buy Kerrang! in the '90s to read their reviews and find out which bands they hated, because that would probably mean I might like them. I discovered Primal Fear like ...

Re: Next Announcement
Well, Bring Me the Horizon are the future of metal - (along with Parkway Drive and something called Beartooth) Pure clickbait. Write a controversial story. Sit back and watch angry people give you advertising income. It's obviously nonsense. It's not metal, so there's no way it could be the future ...

Only four hours late with the announcement. Never mind, eh.

Re: Next Announcement
A bunch of bands that I've mostly not heard of. And still no official announcement on the forum. Big surprise. But from having given them a listen, 3 Headed Snake sound very promising. The other Sophie bands all sound reasonable enough, even if they don't really stand out much.

Toranaga were the opening support when I first saw Manowar. But I missed them because my lift chose that afternoon to have a huge domestic with her boyfriend, so we arrived late!

Re: Beast In Black
Not a bad band, but their live performances rely far too heavily on backing tapes. I heard someone mention this on the Facebook group earlier. I always assumed they had a keyboard player. But rubbish if not and all the keys are on backing tracks No, they don't. But it's not just the keys. The backi...

Re: Next Announcement
If a festival wants to seem like it has a finger on the pulse of the metal scene bands like these should be guaranteed a booking This is one of my criticisms of the festival - there are trends within the metal world. Bands and genres wax and wane in popularity. It seems that the festival bookers do...

Re: Next Announcement
If that was written by someone in the BOA team it would explain why we don't get many folk bands as they don't know what folk metal is. It wasn't written by any of the BOA team, it was just a regular fan. No, from memory it was written by Simon Hall, who books the Sophie, Unsigned and Jaeger stages.

Re: Next Announcement
It may be worth pointing out why the festival existed in the first place. It was started because Saxon wanted to play a UK date and no promoter would put them on. So their friend put his money where his mouth was and booked a venue and filled it with some of his favourite and local bands. Then he d...

Re: The Voting Age
Just raise it back to 21 If they remove income tax and NI contributions from your pay until you're 21 too then fine. Why do you believe those things should be linked? Income tax is needed to fund running the country. NI is used to fund benefits. Neither of which have any bearing on voting age. It's...

Re: Metal 2 the Masses 2019
Having just checked a video on YouTube, I think Soul Shredder have potential, but her voice has a way to go. But maybe it was an older video, if you're saying she's improved.
