Are you saying you like Powerwolf but not Sabaton? Each to their own of course but I find that quite odd, the two bands are very much treading the same boards.

It baffles me that people like Powerwolf that much. Boring music.

I'd say exactly the same about Swallow the Sun - each to their own!!

Re: Next Announcement

Initially surprised that Powerwolf are special guests, they've never hit the top 100 in the UK...but their star is growing and they're bound to appeal to Sabaton fans so it makes sense in retrospect. Good band who I probably won't be able to catch on their current tour so happy with that. The other ...

Re: 2019 Albums

Hoping to see that album Hell was working on a couple of years ago but suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth shortly after they announced they were working on it. Something new from Moonsorrow would be good too. I would imagine Sneap's involvement with Priest has scuppered any chance of a ...

Re: 2019 Albums

Flotsam & Jetsam, Overkill, Candlemass and Hammerfall out of those listed on Wiki. I believe there's a chance we'll get Megadeth, Cradle of Filth, Anthrax, Finntroll and Sacred Reich albums in 2019 too.

Re: Next Announcement

It's not Megadeth, they've played before. It's definitely not Powerwolf, they're not even remotely big enough to headline Bloodstock.

Re: Next Announcement

As this is probably the most active thread in the forum, just a shout out that the annual album of the year thing is running again in the metal section. Vote for your favourite 10 albums of 2018, in no particular order and those with the most votes will go to a second round in the new year to decide...

Nah, they're huge, debut album went top ten in the UK. If anything they're probably too big for BOA.

Re: Next Announcement

For anyone faintly clinging to the hope of Helloween - she categorically ruled them out for next year. Lots of depressing bands she said she'd love to book and confirmed that Bodycount have been in her sights for some time.

Re: Next Announcement

Not gonna lie, I love power metal but that Blind Guardian performance was the biggest yawnfest I've seen from a special guest since I started attending in 2011. I genuinely almost fell asleep standing up! Testament and Blind Guardian should have been swapped without a doubt imo. Woah. I thought Bli...

Re: Next Announcement

Blind Guardian did get special guests. Only 2 years ago. And Demons and Wizards, being a rarity, would probably at least get an hour. That said, I think if they were going to be booked they would have been announced by now, and I think the token power metal slots are all full. I thought they'd play...

Re: ANTHRAX - DIMMU BORGIR - THY ART IS MURDER & TESSERACT - CONFIRMED FOR BLOODSTOCK 2019

anyone who likes Anthrax would've seen them THIS year anyway on the Slayer tour)- and they were as boring as always- I always think they MUST have something as they are one of the 'Big 4' so I approach their set and think 'Right I'm gonna give them another chance- but I've given up now....they have...
