Re: TV: Current and Recent

New episode is awesome. Makes me want to finish the first book and crack on with CoK even more. Should be done in a day or two :D Oh, and from getting up to where I am now in the series, I can safely say there's nothing I hate more than Sansa chapters. Sansa is my absolute favourite. he's not a gre...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

my hatred of Tyrion Lannister only grew in that first scene with Cersei. Cersei's such an interesting and compelling character. Tyrion gloats about his pain and success alike, hate him. Haven't seen the scene myself, but Tyrion is by far the best character in the series for me. Cersei is an annoyin...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

he's the catalyst for the plot but he's not in any way the main character. he's quite clearly the "loser" in the "you win or you die" aspect. i mean, he literally goes and tells Baelish his plans.. AFTER baelish says not to trust him in any circumstances. that was only one shinin...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

going against your expectations is the one theme of the asoiaf series, you get more used to it after the first big one (ned) :D

Re: TV: Current and Recent

there's literally two action scenes in the whole ten episodes so holding swords =/= action scene because it's not like they even cut the stuff from an action scene.

still watching, and Stannis/Davos is absolutely perfect. I missed them in the first season, there was so little talk of Stannis.

Re: The Book thread

just finished City of Thieves by David Benioff. a teenager and a deserter are given an unusual punishment of searching Leningrad for a dozen eggs. weird premise but it was fantastic, really loved the two main characters.

Re: TV: Current and Recent

the point is that you get fooled into thinking Sean Bean's the main character but he's very clearly not. it's a bait and switch. so basically you were fooled.

also i don't see how quick cutting between scenes = action but whatever.

Re: What has made you happy today

decided to last-minute go to a concert in guildford tonight which was absolutely hilarious. matt lucas is actually funny when he's doing musical theatre, as opposed to his "comedy" which i find boring. also lots of my favourite west end performers were featured, and some funny skits by a c...

Re: What pissed you off today

i bought a television and it's turned into a total headache. for one thing, it didn't tune to freeview even though it should have. then i bought a digital indoor aerial to improve it. now it's even worse. i'm fairly clueless about these things so trying to fix it up myself is a nightmare, and now it...
