Re: DRI not playing but wanting to

So guess what, instead of one of the first crossover thrash bands formed in '82 playing 'the home of metal' in the UK, they're playing a pub in Bolton Why would a band that aren't metal be a good fit for "the home of metal"? No less metal than several other bands who have played over the ...

Re: Next announcement

I got a bit bored looking through as all but a couple had very generic grunty vocals. A bit more diversity would be nice.

Re: Next announcement

Simon Hall has just posted on Facebook that there will be an announcement today at 11. He says if you've been keeping an eye on things you should know 50% of them (M2TM winners I assume). The other 50% could be interesting.

Re: Sophie stage post-band entertainment feedback

Over the last couple of years I've done some DJing in the Serpent's Lair and between us we have a wide selection of DJs who all do different things, and it works really well. I tend to play a lot of 70s proto metal bands, prog rock, doom and horror soundtracks which seems to go down pretty well, wher...

Re: Next announcement

Just heard that Mantas has had a double heart bypass. He is at home resting now, but I guess that throws Venom Inc's appearance into some doubt. Obviously a speedy recovery is what I am hoping for, but it's very sad to hear he's been through this.

Re: Next announcement

Mr Big are only in there because I'd like to see Paul Gilbert play. That's pretty much why I'm half tempted to see them, Addicted to That Rush is a classic but other than that it's just to see Gilbert and Sheenan rip it up. So, out of curiosity, what day do people think is the strongest so far? Fri...

Power Trip and A Forest of Stars are both good and Bio-Cancer might be worth checking out. Quite happy with this announcement. Three who are of interest.

Christ, a shitawful 90s band who now sound horribly dated and no-one younger than 40 remembers. They'll be an absolute shoe in!

I'm 39 and I remember them.

I'm 46 and wish I didn't.

Re: Next announcement

Onslaught and Lovebites are both good for me. Most of the other stuff isn't my thing, although I might watch De Profundis who are very much on the listenable end of death metal for me.

Re: I ĺack of power and folk metal

I wouldn't put Helloween in the "fun" band category. But a lack of "fun" bands? You certainly aren't looking at the same line up as me. Apart from stating that half the line up is a joke. :P Singalong bands, Judas Priest, Doro, Nightwish, Kamelot, Orphaned Land. Fun bands, Alest...
