Re: Next announcement

I agree that Bloodstock could make a greater effort in booking power metal bands than they seem to, but even as a power metal fan I can't say that any of the bands you mentioned there would be suitable for a special guest slot apart from Helloween and I imagine the sticking point with them was the ...

Re: Next announcement

The only bands I'm interested in on Friday are Emperor and Priest. I'd watch Bloodbath, Doro and Suicidal Tendencies but none of those are bands I'd bother to watch on their own. Saturday only has Venom inc. and Alestorm, both bands I like a lot. I'd watch Orden Ogan but probably sat down at the ba...

Sabaton, Ghost, and Alice Cooper.

King Diamond or Anthrax would also be very good.

Re: Next announcement

Just a guess. Moved Combichrist down based on the wording of their announcement. I'd also move Septic Flesh down as well, most tour dates I can find they're either co-headlining or supporting acts in venues that are 300-500 capacity, don't think they'd be that high up on the bill. Are we back to sp...

Re: Next announcement

This is a good announcement for me. I love Pallbearer, Heartless was one of my favourite albums of last year, and Alestorm are a great fun band who I am certain will go down a storm. The other two bands I wasn't familiar with, both sound ok from one song. I may check them out if they don't clash wit...

Re: Next announcement

I'd be happy with some decent folk/thrash/doom/power metal. Exodus, Attic, Blues Pills, Blood Ceremony, Finntroll, Korpiklaani, Turisas, Rhapsody, Helloween, Running Wild, Sacred Reich, Electric Wizard, Pallbearer, Nebula, Primal Fear, Iced Earth, or even someone like Rock Goddess for a heritage ban...

Re: Next announcement

Doom has been massively overlooked on the mainstage, just remember this festival has never in the whole time it's been running booked Electric Wizard, one of the biggest and most obvious choices, Witchcraft, and Candlemass have only played once a piece and surely the likes of St Vitus, Pentagram, Tr...

Re: Next announcement

I'd have watched the first Nails song but all the rest sound the same so not too bothered (yes, I'm at that age where I've started to sound like my Dad!). Lots of bands turning up on the festival circuit I'd welcome...Enslaved, Solstafir, Korpiklaani, Tankard... I'd be happy with any of those, but ...

You got my hopes up that they'd cancelled for a second there.

Have just seen the other thread about the guitarist getting arrested. Be interesting to see what happens from here on in.

I wouldn't have thought so, they're certainly not the sort of band that would get anyone excited for next year. The change of style and their less than stellar recent material suggests a late afternoon/tea time slot.

Re: Blind Guardian

There's been no confirmation of them playing Imaginations in full and I think it would be an odd think to do in the UK, where the album never had any impact at the time. But they do seem to be playing it at other European festivals so who knows. Songs that they pretty much always play are Valhalla,...

Re: Next Announcement

There always used to be folk metal bands on the bill at one point, but there rarely seems to be anything of that nature booked these days. Always went down a storm in previous years, so it seems odd that they've stopped booking such bands.
