Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

I know you mean it. That's why it's so funny. It's the same I feel towards bad penalty decisions, etc etc all the time these days when it "costs the players the game." a) People wouldn't care if it was their team who did it and b) Ghana had 93 minutes in the game to score a second goal. Th...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

I think likewise, but that Argentina will also be unable to come with the German counter-attack. I think it will either be a 0-0 to Extra Time/Pens or a sheer goalfest. Shame I'm at work during :(

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

To be honest, instinct most likely. Live with the shame? Let's face it, the guy is a hero in Montevideo now.

I'm going with Germany and Spain tomorrow.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Suarez didn't cheat. cheat (cht) v. cheat·ed, cheat·ing, cheats v.tr. 2. To violate rules deliberately, as in a game: was accused of cheating at cards. He cheated. Dictionary definitions have no place in a sports discussion. As I said, if you want to call anyone who commits any kind of foul or offe...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

The fact Germany have looked a hell of a lot more impressive in their games, despite the loss in my opinion. Let's face it, Argentina haven't really had a testing match yet.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

The Beckham one is a bit true though, as he took us down to 10 men...

But as the guy on the BBC live text said, Suarez didn't cheat. He used the rules to his advantage and got lucky. Personally, kudos to the guy.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Argentina do look strong, but they're up against the best team in the tournament so far- Germany. As for Suarez, why would he of gone to a zero at all in Uruguay? He got the first block, and yes he gave away a penalty...even if it had of been scored, had he not handballed, Ghana would've scored anyw...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

I've been supporting South American underdogs in general (Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay) so I'm quite happy. Do feel for Ghana though. Abreu though. What a cool motherfucker. One of the most dramatic endings to a game I've seen...and to accentuate that- Luis Saurez...well, what a save. I believe he'll mi...
