Re: What made you Lol Today?
True. Having Russell Howard and Ross Kemp nearby, they've got a reputation of being friendly as long as you're not overbearing and not disturbing them at bad times (when they're with their family, eating, etc etc)

Re: TV: Current and Recent
Exactly. It's worth noting that the original incarnation of Top Gear had 8 presenters and was all about the cars and the public *hated* it.

Re: TV: Current and Recent
Yeah. Considering most TV is staged, it's a pretty weak flaw if you ask me.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Exactly. I know that's what they do in Ice Hockey- only review goals. There's some guy in a booth in the stadium with all the fancy technology to make the decision.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
It's one of those things really where I don't think it'd help the game and make it worse. I mean if we have video replays allowed, someone runs through, called offside- they carry on and they score while the goalie doesn't bother to do anything because of the flag...do we then check the replay, see ...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Yes, but the problem is, if we want to check every offside, you'll destroy the game. There's a lot a game which will take time to sort out, stop and start the game. Even if you give 3, it still adds extra time into a game.
That and it would so blatantly be used for timewasting, too.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
You don't even need replays. You just need to stick a chip in the ball and a infra-red line across the goal mouth and the referee gets told electronically it's in.
But I don't want to see technology for diving, offsides and whatnot.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Well, Motty had a good point really. If you open the box, it could get ridiculous and used for every single decision going and just ruin the game completely.
However, the two decisions today in both games were just awful.
