Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

I also still feel sorry for The Hodge, not his fault the team was so utterly balls, Dalglish isn't doing much better either, with two losses and a draw, but nobody has bitched at him... That's a point, I forgot about him. I know what you mean. He was given no time to shape the squad how he wanted i...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Dear God. Why don't they just put clown suits on and parade around Upton Park and get it over with. To be honest I think the treatment of managers is getting worse and worse. Chris Hughton and Big Sam were sacked, whilst still performing well with their teams, and now you have this. I feel sorry fo...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

So spurs bid for Pienaar has been accepted, he's off to Tottenham. Thoughts? Certainly a good player, at a very good price due to the contract situation. I do have my doubts as to how he'll get in the side week in, week out, as they have Bale and Lennon who are both excellent players. I do apologis...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Thing is though, at £18 million, I'd snap their hands off, and then get that Wellbeck fella signed on a permanent deal, and bring in another striker. I don't think you have any chance of getting Welbeck permanently. He's young and showing that he's got the talent. Plus he can play on the left and w...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

I hope O'Neil takes it. I'm not sure he will though. As to staying up... We need to spend some money on a right back and a goalscorer. It's tight enough down there that we could get out of it, but wihout a radical change I can't see it happening. Says hes confirmed as not on BBC Sport now. Aye it d...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

On topic, I think the entire West Ham squad should be sent off to the donkey sanctuary. And be replaced by the donkeys. At least they might win a game then :P With regards to West Ham, does anyone think that Martin O'Neil will take the job (Was heavily linked at the weekend) and if he does, do peop...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Fair enough on the injury front, I didn't know he'd been injured a fair bit. I'm not trying to say he's a bad player at all. I mean I'd have him at Newcastle in a flash. (Him and Big Andy up top could be one hell of a partnership!). I think what I'm trying to say is I just don't think he's worth wha...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Yeah I agree, all he does is score loads of goals all the time! It's not like he goes out there every week and makes the massive impact of Wayne Rooney or anything. Granted in the last couple of seasons he's scored a fair few goals, but firstly, how many of them are penalties? I'd bet a good few we...

This! I really can't believe that Villa seem to be willing to pay that price! I'd say he's worth £10-12 Million. Even in todays market.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/17/darren-bent-aston-villa-sunderland This had better not happen, our strikeforce is limited enough as it is :| Thing is though, at £18 million, I'd snap their hands off, and then get that Wellbeck fella signed on a permanent deal, and bring in another st...

Think I'll just look over the lectures at home, and go back in 4 weeks time :D

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Fucking Gyan! :x We deserved to win that as well!

So close to doing the double over them!

I can't really complain though. If I'd have been offered 29 points after 22 games and to be 9th, the first season back in the PL, I'd have taken it straight away!
