Re: Outdoor Gigs

Struggling to see 'normal' gigs returning in August. Now - socially distanced gigs with mandatory face masks? That might happen. (Face masks allow the SD limit to the 1 metre instead of 2). I don't understand how you can enforce social distancing, regardless of one or two metres, at an open air gig...

Re: Next Announcement

I mean, it's literally less than £7. If you're free that weekend and want access to a mixture of lockdown sets and some old festival performance footage from a dozen festivals, then it's less than the cost of 2 festival pints.

Re: Orden Ogan London Show

Looks like Wind Rose are still trying to get added to the London show if they can make it work. Sounds like it was Brothers of Metal that couldn't do it.

The new Vampire album is a good slab of blackened thrash :)

Re: Ward xvi

I didn't even realise Off Ya Rocka was still going. Seen a number of bands get signed to them years back and not much come of it.

Still, happy for Ward XVI. They're a fun band and I enjoyed their set last time.

Re: Next Announcement

Four years is maybe a bit too soon for a headliner to come back. I think headliners should go through a five year cycle to keep up the variety, but it would be a good repeat for Bloodstock. Whilst Bloodstock have been better than Download when it comes to frequency of recycling headliners, it's sti...

Re: XJapan

They'd probably be more suited to Download (or even Ramblin' Man). However, I can vouch for them being STELLAR live. Saw them in London a few years back and it was an electric performance all 'round.

I agree. The album is bloody good, particularly the title track.

Re: Metal 2 The Masses 2020

No idea what other regions are doing, but Sheffield's plan is thusly - The 16 Semi-Finalist -> will be given the opportunity to enter at the Semi Final stage in 2021. Other bands can enter from the 1st round as usual. The exact format will depend on the number of applicants, but the broad template w...

Re: Next Announcement

Amon Amarth were just announced for Metaldays. They're definitely on the festival circuit. I know it's a repeat - but it would be a good repeat that pleases a fair bunch of people.

Tbh, that makes sense with them only putting up the cost by £10.

I wonder if Thursday will be fleshed out to a full day or whether we just get a similar deal on the Wednesday?

Re: 2020 Albums

One of the standouts for me at BOA 2019 was Lost In Lavender Town. Well, the guys just dropped their second EP - https://lostinlavendertown.bandcamp.com ... season-two
