Re: The Wrestling Thread

Isn't the UK meant to be getting the WWE Network before the end of 2014 anyway?

Re: The Wrestling Thread

I think 15 minutes is being ambitious for Orton vs Batista  At the moment the whole event for me hinges on Cena vs Bray Wyatt, which makes me worried they might do something stupid like, you know, book Cena to win. Whilst I'd prefer Bray to win, if booked correctly a Cena victory would be fine...

Re: The Wrestling Thread

I still think the only rescue option is to have Bryan go into Mania as champ, beg Punk to come back, book him to take the #1 contendership off Bootista, have Batista vs Orton vs Cena in a end of an era triple threat as the sub-main event and then save Cena vs Bray Wyatt for Summerslam. Whatever way...

Re: The Wrestling Thread

Elimination Chamber thoughts: Big E/Swagger Fun - particularly liked E's spear through the ropes. Usos/NAO A simple match, but well executed. I really want to like the Usos more, but I think they could do with a charismatic manager to handle hype/promos. Titus/Young Wasn't bad, but there was virtual...

Re: movies

On the Tarantino front: Reservoir Dogs - 5/5 Pulp Fiction - 4/5 Jackie Brown - Not seen Kill Bill Vol. 1&2 - 3/5 - I always mix up which I liked more than the other - it is 3 and 3.5 one way or another. Death Proof - 3/5 Inglourious Basterds - 5/5 Django Unchained - 4/5 - could have been better ...

Re: The Wrestling Thread

Just been reading that apparently the Sting/WWE deal is very close to finalised, and it is the WWE that is taking it's time finishing it off. Here's a potential scenario I can see for a Sting debut: * Taker faces Lesnar as planned. Taker wins (of course) but maybe by the tightest of margins that he ...

Re: movies

Dallas Buyer Club - very good, with some strong performances. 4/5
Monuments Men - likeable, but average and a bit of a waste of the talent involved 2.5 to 3/5

Re: movies

I've been exploring what Netflix has to offer in the past few days. This has led me to watching Glengarry Glen Ross (very, very good) and Donnie Brasco (slow start, but ends up very good). The cast for GGR is ridiculous - Al Pacino, Jack Lemon, Kevin Spacey, Alan Arkin, Ed Harris, Alec Baldwin, Jona...

Re: The Wrestling Thread

In yet more WWE news and rumours that I've just read... Apparently Sting and WWE have come to domed sort of terms that will likely see him Inducted into the 2015 Hall of Fame. Not this years as they would be looking for a year to educate people about Sting meaning (probably select dates to Wrestle ...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

So it looks like Juan Mata is at United now...i wonder how this'll play out. Gotta say I think it's one of the most foolish moves Mourinho has ever made, letting him go, to an arch rival of recent years, and replacing him with a player who doesn't seem as good. Mistake if you ask me, but then I don...

Re: The Wrestling Thread

I've followed WWF/E on-and-off since about 96ish, and watched WCW when it was on TNT/Bravo. In more recent years I go into indy feds like RoH and CHIKARA, whilst generally following what was happening in Japan (mainly focussing on NJPW because... well... Tanahashi/Nakamura are fantastic). I get the ...

Barmy about barms eh...     I was thinking about this topic at work today (my job is boring in case you're wondering, I'm not a bread weirdo like you ;) ) and it occured to me that while we never say barm, we do use butty for when it's filled. Like...

Re: The Wrestling Thread

Tensai was great in Japan as Giant Bernard. Some guys just have to be booked in specific ways to get the most out of them.
