Re: What has made you happy today

My mate is coming down later to drop off my new (his old) PC. Finally we'll have a decent machine and I can get back into some proper PC gaming :D

Ouch. Still, if it's any consolation: someone traded in the special edition boxset (which must have set them back nearly £50) and they only got £1 for it. The company I work for are nothing if not robbing bastards...

I tried. I really REALLY tried to like it. But, frankly, it bored the arse off me. Luckily I only paid about £7 for it and got £3.60 back for it :)

Re: Computer Games Thread

Traded in a couple of games ("Farcry 2" - SHITE! / "Condemned 2" - Dissapointing...) to put towards Bioshock 2 :D

Only £6 mind but as I work for GAME I also get 25% off as well, minus whatever I have on my Reward card. I am soiling myself with glee over this game...

What has made me happy today? Getting off my arse (and then back onto it) to carry on editing my writing project. And now I'm capping off a fairly productive day with some cold ones.

Re: The Book thread

Nearly finished "Amusing Ourselves To Death" by Neil Postman; a sort of analysis on TV's effect on culture and how Aldous Huxley's prophecy was correct and not George Orwells.

I'll go back to Salman Rushdie's "Midnight's Children" when I'm done with that :)

Re: What has made you happy today

The thought of finishing work and coming back to a bottle of red wine, an empty house and my Xbox 360 hooked up to the big living room TV while my girlfriend's family are away for the weekend. It's going to be a happy evening for me :)
