Re: BOA 2017: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The good The bands! Every band I cared about watching was great, with some truly amazing performances in there. The sound was much better, aside from Ghost which was fucking horrendous. The weather! Apart from the cold Saturday night, it was perfect. The food. Good variety as always, I liked the Pae...

Re: Third Headliner Possibilities

Emperor have just been confirmed for the Netherlands Death Fest in Tilburg next March, so they are continuing to headline festivals next year. Doesn't mention whether they're playing Anthems though (which is on a par with Nightside for me so I'd be more than ok with it being played). Sweet! I'd be ...

Re: Third Headliner Possibilities

Outliers would be a return of Machine Head, or possibly Killswitch Engage. Watain would also be solid, but I'm not sure if they would have made the jump to headliner status yet. Other than that, I'm honestly drawing a blank. No way would Watain be headliners, they were 3rd down last time (only ende...

Re: Third Headliner Possibilities

Judas Priest - I think they're an option, but they are probably too costly. Emperor - I think Anthems is still a headline worthy set, especially as they still have the rarity. Helloween - Yeah I could see it, but I personally wouldn't care for it. Sabaton - Hope not. Yawn. Electric Wizard I would pe...

Re: Camping checklists and advice

Feet doesn't work at BOA, it always ends up with a hurt foot or a bent peg. Sometimes both.

There is a way to avoid it, IIRC.

Clashfinder updated https://clashfinder.com/s/mjboa2017 Only an hour for Blind Guardian :( Wonderful, cheers. :D I have literally zero clashes which is great. May I ask why it's set to "print if you have to"? Are we awaiting something? Just curious. Just incase something changes but I'm n...

Re: Bloodstock 2018???

No chance they'd announce such a frequent repeat like that. Nightwish are fairly likely, but I dunno if they'd make a big thing about having Watain back.

I'm hoping that it's Priest, but I doubt it.

Aside from the obvious things of clothes, money, ticket, etc...

Air bed
Sleeping bag
Small camping lamp
Loo roll
Sun screen
baby wipes
duct tape (for tent repairs, never had to use it yet but you never know)
Mallet

Re: Heavy rain wash out

Ponchos are pretty cheap, they do them in Tesco for under £5. Wellies are a solid bet tbh, even if you don't need them this year you probably will in the future.

Re: What Are We Waiting For?

Yep - that's in the letter to residents that they post each year. Licensing fees are based on attendance so no point paying for 20k if you're not going to sell that many tickets, particularly if everything you have to pay out for (toilets, security, first aiders etc) is also likely to be based on n...

The rain wasn't particularly heavy IIRC, it was just constant overnight and most of Sunday. My tent flooded... double skinned tent ever since then. Learned my lesson a bit.
