Re: movies

The Grand Budapest Hotel - I can't work out if it is a terrible film or a great film. All I can say is I feel like it was both. I liked the camera work, set design and some of acting was great (Ralph Fiennes for example) but the animation/cgi, converluted plot and acting (Adrian Brody) was terrible....

Re: movies

I loved Elysium. Yes it wasn't original like District 9 but it was his first movie with 'Hollywood money and actor's'. So it wasn't perfect but Chappie looks great and I think he will be great for Aliens. He has a great eye for visual effects and his directing style is really great. I think he is pe...

Re: movies

So it's official, new Aliens film by Neil Blomkompp (can't spell his last name). I think he is one of the best directors around at the moment, especially for his eye on visual and practical effects.

Re: TV: Current and Recent

I know what I said was contradictory but as a massive Batman fan, Gotham is a really hard sell on me. If you're gonna do a Batman show with Batman villains you make it about Batman. Gotham is about Gordon, which isn't a bad thing, but you're really restricted with what you can do. You can't have his...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

I'd agree with Jim here. Arrow from the second half of season 1 onwards it's really become something great. With other heroes like Atom and Firestorm due soon and rumours of Green Lantern appearing, I can only see it getting better. Flash works just as well but they using that they take in the more ...

Re: movies

Face - Robert Carlyle plays a gangster in a film with so little plot it doesn't turn till about an hour in. Ray Winstone also has also has role with usual acting degree of calling everyone a slag with even one rather hilarious where he's choking someone a screaming slag in his face. It also takes a ...

Re: movies

Female Ghostbusters is a bad idea, and the cast they announced are an even more terrible idea.

Re: movies

I thought it was handled on the same level as Robocop in that respect. The common man was poor and living in derelict buildings while the OCP man stood in his office treating you like you were easily replaceable. if I hadn't know better I'd say it was a better attempt at a Robocop remake than the Ro...

Re: movies

Elysium - I know everyone on here seemed to hate it but I have to say I loved it. It was as brilliant as District 9 and seemed to get bogged down with "let's use so slow motion to show off some cgi". The story was great and although it never deviated from being a sci fi film, there were a ...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Black Sails - didn't know what to expect and thought it would be a load of shit like Vikings but this surprisingly really good. I highly recommend if someone is looking for a good pirate story. Wondering how they will build up to Treasure Island. Yeah, I quite liked it - got through it in a week wh...

I would love to see them have roles in the film. Even as the villains. They are all great fighters so I would happhappily watch be great Sith Jedi.

Re: Computer Games Thread

In terms of best games for last gen consoles a lot of what's already been said, but as much as I love gta v, I love gta 4 so much more (still not a patch on vice city though). Batman arkham asylum/city are also great games who managed to get the combat system right straight away.
