I was stood next to you in the tent at Bloodstock (Ward XVI possibly?) but there was no point introducing myself as it was too loud to hear anything anyway.

BRAIN DONORS (1992) https://i.imgur.com/aDl6n1t.jpg Back in 1992, when video rentals were a thing, it seemed that every film released by Universal had a trailer for Brain Donors before the main feature. It looked like fun, so I waited patiently for either of my local video shops to get it in. It ne...

DUNKIRK First off, I have to say I am completely neutral about Christopher Nolan. He's made some great films, he's made some decent films, and he's done some shit. I have no agenda against him and I'm not a frothing fanboy who explodes into a rage if anyone dares impugn his all powerful name. Telli...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Just started Season 2 of Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. 5 episodes in and it's significantly better than the first one, feels a bit more Douglas Adams as well which is always nice. I was ready to chuck it in the bin by Episode 5. It was slow, meandering, and generally unimpressive. Howeve...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Unsurprisingly, the first episode of the new X-Files is all a bit of an incoherent muddle.
Half the episode is spent trying to clear up the mess left at the end of the last series, while the other half just ends up making an even bigger one.

Wow didn't realise there were so many puppet master films ha ha. Think I only saw the first one when it came out. You took one for the team there. Do the Hellraiser or Lost boys franchises next ha ha. The only good moment of either of the Lost Boys sequels was the saxophone player, aged and with a ...

Great show. Gutted they cancelled it after Season 2, just as the story was about to really take off.

Re: TV: Current and Recent

I watched the first episode of Gunpowder and never went back to it. The execution scene was way too over-hyped, and the final scene was just laughable. "My name is GUY FAWKES!". Go away. Season 2 of The Exorcist is building nicely. The wife's got me watching Outlander because she likes rom...

Now that's scarier than the programme.

I was at the wrong age for Ghostwatch. I was twenty and had it sussed as a set-up after about two minutes.
The wife watched it when she was thirteen and it scared the shit out of her.
