Re: What pissed you off today
I was thinking that. "Us" seems an odd thing to say in a company email.

Re: The Relationships Thread
In my brief foray into OKcupid I remember adding The Notebook on the bottom of my list of films thingamy just for common ground's sake. But I doubt anyone looked past the Arnie films and thought a bloke was all about The Notebook :eyes:  It's true you could lie through your back teeth in real ...

Re: The Relationships Thread
My reservation with dating websites is that the person could be lying through their teeth about themselves - heck, enough people change or gloss over parts of themselves on the wider internet as a whole. Mind you, I suppose if you met them it's only one wasted evening to find this out. I could just ...

Re: What pissed you off today
Phoned my boss to ask about my holiday problem and he was really mean to me :( He said 'oh you've had so much holiday, don't try and twist my arm' and then proceeded to go on and tell me that if I quit he'd want money back for the paid holidays I've had and also told me that I'd let him down by not...

Re: A free-for-all thread
I'm rusty on this kind of thing, but I think milk snakes are harmless - however a lot of them have really similar markings to coral snakes, and they're super dangerous. I think that's the right way round  EDIT: Just checked that - they're a type of King Snake, and they're non-venomous constrict...

Not naturally occurring you don't, they're only found in the Americas I think. It's probably an escapee.

I always wanted that too. I got a muddy smelly field instead. Still, all worked out in the end

Drink as much water as you can (I know, it's a pain) just to try and flush your system until you can get to the doctors. Also, hot water bottles are great for soothing the pain

Re: What pissed you off today
A bloke I used to be friends with acting up again. I think I posted about it ages ago – basically went for a night out with him and a couple of other friends and ended up with him being very creepy all night and me leaving early. I then received a very long text later that night declaring not far sh...

Re: The Book thread
Alex gave me Scott Lynch's The Lies of Locke Lamora for the journey to London and back. So far (about half way through) it's a good pacey read and the story is interesting - the jumping between two different time periods in the character's life is well-timed and maintains interest and suspense effec...

Re: What pissed you off today
I can understand the volatility argument - but surely some work for an unspecified amount of time is better than no work and no money?
Having said that though I've never actually temped as such - only on the basis that I've been temporary for a probation period and then made permanent.

Re: What pissed you off today
I've found out I can't go to Bloodstock or go on a sailing holiday with my family this year because I've been told I only have one days holiday left. :( I don't care so much about BOA as I'd never been 100% set on it anyway but my dad looked so upset and disappointed about the sailing. He's already...
