Re: TV: Current and Recent

Ah, I didn't see any papers yesterday and the news hasn't been picked up by any geeky websites I've seen. Still, I'll take stories from tabloids about 'friends of Matt say' with a pinch of salt...the same papers reported horrible ratings for the last series despite them averaging better than 2 out 3...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Glad to hear Tennant is struggling. I quite liked him as the Doctor but in reality, the man is a cock. well the pilot he did for a new tv show in the US got rejected straight away and i havent hear dof him trying to do anything else since apart from harass Chris Nolan into letting him be the Riddle...

Re: movies

I have never liked Captain America, the same as i'm not a Superman fan, well a pre 80s Superman fan anyway , these were the all American propaganda heroes , Superman was turned in to a hero for Mankind later on, and got more interesting due to that Thor though i am really looking forward to, i love...

Re: movies

Ennis is one of the few writers who will never let them do films on his work. although i know they are planning a film for The Boys, i agree it will be hard to copy the book exactly without offending all religions and almost everyone who watches it. although i think they could get away with anythin...

Re: movies

Ed Norton hates the Hulk movie he did , he was very vocal about it too, which is a shame as I thought it was very good Where did you hear that? He literally begged to be in The Avengers and said he was proud and blessed to have played the part in the recent press release he gave. I thought the Hulk...

Re: movies

I thought Watchmen was OKish, probably as good as it could have been. If anything though I think it just proved Moore right...the book is unfilmable. I`ve no desire to ever watch the film again yet I know I`ve plenty more reads of the book to look forward to. As for Ennis - I`m sure The Preacher was...

Re: movies

V For Vendetta having read the comic book I left this well alone for a very long time, i just didn't think it would be as good, but they have made a very good adaptation, and done the book justice , if movied it somewhat , the book was talk talk and metaphors , would have made for a very boring shi...

Re: movies

Anyone heard all the fuss about the movie `A Serbian Film`? It apparently pushes the limits of taste about as far as it`s possible to...and is sure to enrage the Daily Mail if it finds it`s way over here. There is one particular scene which will surely raise a hearty censorship debate...I`ve always ...

Re: movies

I thought Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were fantastic, the best superhero films I`ve ever seen. The Prestige was awesome as well...I think I`ll give Inception a look.

Re: movies

as this is about the movie and not the TV series it will go here. Johnny Depp, then only actor who seems to be able to play odd or strange, is being rumoured to play Doctor Who. it is incredibly likely to ignore the TV series and add tons of confusion to the TV series and mess up the order of the i...

Re: movies

Watched `Where the Wild Things Are` yesterday. What the fuck was that all about? I gave up just over an hour in...some snotty kid living with a bunch of Banana Splits rejects jumping about all over the place...bored the shit out of me. I`m sure someone will tell me I`m an idiot for missing the emoti...

Re: movies

I`m always amazed no-one has ever made a full on film about Norse Myths...the whole Odin/Thor/Frost Giants stuff. It has the potential to be awesome...and would all but demand a Manowar soundtrack :D I know the Marvel comic version is due next year but that clearly has it`s own mythology to stick to.

As a man aware of the plot of that film, this amused me.

Worth a watch atleast?

Definitely, I really enjoyed it. Just don`t expect a good time!
