Re: movies

That sounds promising, Iron Man 2 has been getting variable reviews but I'm still looking forward to seeing it. Totally un-related but I watched Antichrist today which was possibly the dullest thing ever produced by man.

Re: movies

I watched The Hurt Locker yesterday and really can`t see what the fuss was about. An overlong meandering plotless bore with thoroughly unlikeable characters.

Re: movies

Dances With Wolves is one of my favourite films, so i don't need to see Avatar  If you`ve never seen Avatar how do you know you won`t like it? Likewise if you`ve never seen a film in 3D how do you know it doesn`t add anything? I thought Avatar was a fun popcorn movie. And let`s face it, if you...

Re: movies

The film version of Watchmen is OK...if anything it tries to stick too rigidly to the book whereas most great adaptations adapt ( for obvious reasons ) things. The only thing it changed was the ending which it bollocksed up. Then again the book probably remains the greatest comic ever written so it ...

Re: movies

Just watched The Men Who Stare at Goats which was a good idea and did get me chuckling on occasion...but I got bored halfway through and was eventually quite please when it finished 5/10.

Re: movies

Joss Whedon is going to direct The Avengers. nerdsquee time. the one thing thats got me pissed off is that Chris Evans who plays the Human Torch from Fantastic Four is going to be Captain America......why? cant they find anyone else to play him? this is worse then having Ryan Reynolds playing both ...

Re: movies

Watched a few films recently... Them!...which was the first `horror` film I ever watched as a kid and as such one I had nostalgic memories for. Had never seen it since. It`s pretty hokey ( a 1954 B movie about giant ants is always going to be! ) but stands up pretty well overall...reminded me a litt...

Re: Metal magazines - PLEASE ANSWER!!!!

I flick through Terrorizer and Zero Tolerance in Smiths occasionally. None of the rest hold much appeal for me. I get my metal fix from Blabbermouth, Metalreview.com and forums such as this.

Re: movies

Just seen Survival of the Dead...it`s OK in parts but I do think it`s time for George to hang up his zombie boots. The original trilogy are 3 of my very favourite films but since returning to the franchise he`s increasingly disappointed. Land was decent if underwhelming and Diary and Survival had th...

The demo for this was brilliant, probably me my next purchase now I`ve finished Batman. Still playing Left4Dead2 quite regularly, just not tiring of it.

Re: movies

Just watched a couple of horror films that have been well received lately...and found both rather underwheleming...Thirst and Pontypool. The former in particular bored the willies out of me. I`m going to watch Inside tonight on the recommendation of a few pages back. ...and....the original Clash of ...

Re: movies

Picked up DVDs of Dead Snow, Pan's Labyrinth and Orphan today, all for a fiver. :D I just watched Pan`s Labyrinth today funnily enough, first time since seeing it at the local art-house arse destroying cinema when it came out. It was one of those films I`d always put on the back burner waiting unti...

Re: movies

There`s nothing quite so silly as someone slagging off a film when they haven`t even seen it...nor appear to know anything at all about it. I really enjoyed Slumdog Millionaire...and I`d very much disagree that it`s a deliberately commercial film. Indeed I`m quite surprised it became as popular as i...
