Re: The Still drinking But in Isolation thread

First (mild) hangover since NYE today. Uffffff. My body can tolerate alcohol so much less as I go through my 30s, I only had 6 cans of beer  Oh, it gets even worse with time. I'm pushing 50 now and if I stick to beer only I'm generally OK. I can just sleep it off. Start mixing it with red wine...

Re: What blew your mind today

I switched from Spotify to TIDAL this morning and the audio difference is amazing! Even their basic TIDAL PREMIUM subscription is noticeably better than the highest quality Spotify streams but I found a 6 month free trial for TIDAL HiFi which offers lossless. That's interesting! I've recently been ...

Re: Necessity of a Smart-Phone

I've never actually paid for my own mobile, I've always been given one for work which I can use for personal.

My wife and kids are all Apple fans but I prefer Android. Got a Samsung Galaxy S9+. It's not the latest generation but I love it.

Re: The rather morbid celebrity RIP Thread.

I'm lost for words at this news to be honest. It's tragic.

Nightmare Logic is such a good album and due to illness, badly timed holidays and covid I'll never get the chance to see them.

I'll always remember him for his creepy portral of Ash in Alien. Terrific actor.

Re: Strategy Board Games

Anyone into strategy board games? My wife and I have played them for years but always put off by some prices. Considering I'm not going out anywhere though I've bought some of the more expensive ones recently. I've bought: Memoir 44 Brass Birmingham Scythe 7 wonders duel Spirit Island I'd love to b...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

The new season of Better Call Saul is excellent.

Other than that, I've just been watching old movies for the past few weeks.

Yeah it was. With the intention they were used for hunting and sport. You still can if you're a member of a gun club.

You've never been allowed to buy a hand gun in the UK. At least, not in my life time.

He's only the third I know of. And the actor who played Father Jack was 77 so no spring chicken.

I thought the season was uneven but excellent in parts. However that finale left me completely cold. It was a huge disappointment.

Re: movies

Watched Iron Man 3 and Thor: Dark World last night. For me Iron Man 3 was the best of his solo trilogy 8/10. For the first time I didn't find RDJ/Tony Stark annoying. I suppose a main part of the plot is he has become humbled in the fall out from Avengers. I also thought the Mandarin army were the m...
