Re: Next Announcement

A bunch of Jager bands and not a mention made of the government delaying reopening. Me thinks they are burying their heads in the sand. tbf what is there to say? Current government plans are still to remove all social distancing measures before Bloodstock. There's no suggestion that things like tes...

Re: Next Announcement

Consider things are getting worse not better with regards to cases, it seems a bit optimistic to say things are "very positive". At this stage I'll go if it happens, but I very much doubt it will in the end. Its too soon. Have they announced anything about Metal 2 the Masses yet? Regardles...

Re: Next Announcement

The Indian variant is proving more resistant to the vaccination than other variants, and a hodgepodge of festival goers, all catching it, spreading it and allowing the virus to mutate is only going to cause further strains with further complications. Even if under 30s are rarely under threat (and th...

Re: Next Announcement

I can't see the restrictions lifting on June 21. Government scientific advisers are warning against it and Johnson is under pressure for exiting lockdown too early last year. Wacken cancelled this morning. I'm feeling pessimistic tbh. I'm in the same boat at the minute. Deaths are staying low, and ...

Re: Next Announcement

Ward XVI are sweet and Cradle will probably clash with Hanowar anyway, so easy to avoid. Not bad.

Re: Next Announcement

Ah, another cancellation then. No great loss for me, I don't like them and I've seen Dimmu about six times.

Hopefully we get a decent replacement, although I expect Paradise Lost to just be pushed up. Can anyone notice anyone else missing?

Re: Next Announcement

Really good announcement for me. Scarecrow are fine - I'd be bored of them any other year, but they'll be fun enough for closing the festival I suppose. The New Blood seems to be where its at though. Hanowar there is going to be great - the Jager Stage hasn't done them justice in the past. Fellowshi...

Re: Next Announcement

Hell sound like the best option so far but I'm guessing they've died a death.

Re: Next Announcement

I thought the band would have been announced by now. But they have played more than 3 times. I know people may question how I know but I've known the band for a long time! British band that's played more than 3 times and isn't already on the line-up (Saxon/Winterfylleth/Bloodshot Dawn/Evile). I rec...

Re: Next Announcement

Just listening to the podcast, apparently the Sunday Sophie headliner is coming soon - a British band that have played loads of times. My guess is Evil Scarecrow.

Re: Next Announcement

Summer this year still looks doomed unfortunately. on what basis? I won't believe the festival is happening until I'm walking through the gates, I just find it impossible to believe things will go back to normal enough to have festival crowds again within a few months. The raft of cancellations don...

Re: Next Announcement

2000 Trees seem like they've been heavily screwed over moneywise during this whole thing - they had no relief from the government, and had to set up a patreon to survive after last year's cancellation. They probably just can't take the financial risk. I imagine Arctangent will follow pretty soon, bu...

Re: Next Announcement

I'm pretty sure the go-to headliner in case of a cancellation will be Bullet. Vicky said on one of the podcasts that she was going to book them instead of Mercyful Fate, then realised that there would be riots. I imagine if anyone else cancelled they'll have no choice. Primitai and Napalm Death are ...
