Re: BOA 2019: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly.

Good Good sets from the bands I wanted to see Friendly staff Seeing my mates band play, even if it was in the VIP Lancaster fly-past Bad Food prices - seems to be a common complaint. Went to a country/Americana festival a few weeks ago, and while it aims for a posher crowd, the food was much better ...

Re: Next Announcement

Apparently PWD sold more day tickets than anyone - which is fine but indicates there is a bit of a divide between them and weekend ticket buyers.

As for the biggest- Slayer or Priest

Re: Next Announcement

Vicky's IG seems to relishing in some kind of vindication for PWD - and in all fairness there were loads there to see them. Thought they were OK, a little bland but not too wide of the mark as some of the more melodic stuff had an In Flames sound. As for hardcore, bands like SOIA have been playing m...

Re: Dimmu Borgir cancel

Not to BOA to decide the IP rights based on a few news stories so not aiding and abetting anything - they wanted a band, band was available. Its happened many times before (Kyuss, Saxon, Queensryche..) and will happen again. If you've picked your side, don't watch..

Re: First Timers Coming For The Day

On a Saturday the drop off point should be clear- tbh there's nothing to stop you being dropped off anywhere along the road- do it most years, but you probably w/o t be able to get picked up as there's no waiting area except the drop off point.

Re: Next Announcement

The bass player from the Wildhearts started playing again quite soon after having his leg amputated - started just doing encores, then just the main set and now does the whole set standing with a prosthesis. Think I recall him finishing a set after dislocating his knee on stage at Reading.

Re: Clashfinder

Yeah, I suspect there'll be two main differences - 1. As mentioned, the Sunday will be out as Ross the Boss has a longer set than normal. Last time they did it (I think) was 2016 for Satyricon, they got an hour and the preceding and following bands got less time; Metal Allegiance did 40 instead of ...

Bloodstcok Bingo - All new 2020 edition

Right. by request the 2020 edition of the longest standing band guessing ritual in metaldom is open. 30 years ago, men (women were allowed later..) gathered and wrote down 10 random bands - 12 years later, a festival was formed to give some point to this... Just in case we get a batch of bands like ...

If there's some kind of anniversary thing, I reckon Saxon will be involved somewhere.

Others - Devin Townsend, Behemoth, Whitesnake,
