Re: movies

Saw Skyfall last night. I thought it was absolutely fantastic. Best bond film ever as far as I'm concerned, a good story, great baddie, well paced action sequences. It was also nice to see it largely on home turf for a change. I even really liked Ben Whitshaw, who was channeling Desmond Llewellyn so...

I agree, even tempted to say it was better than the first. It was just so wacky and off the wall! I had afro circus in my head for ages :)

Re: TV: Current and Recent

I'm surprised there are still people that haven't watched Breaking Bad. It's still never been shown past series 2 in the UK (and that was hidden away on a late night FX slot), it's completely unknown to a lot of people. Shame as it's the best TV show ever IMO, heaven knows why UK networks have igno...

Re: movies

Tbh, Ridley said from the start that it would be linked but not directly linked to Alien. I personally loved it and thought it was a great sci-fi film. It captured a lot of elements from Alien like the intensity. Intensity? I thought that's exactly what it lacked, which was the main reason it was r...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Homeland S1 does lag a bit in the middle of the season, but it started well and the last episode was fantastic. Looking forward to the second season.

Re: movies

Yesterday I saw The Sweeney and Dredd (3D). The Sweeney was utter bollocks. Lots of cockney geezers calling each other faaaacking slaaags, a paper thin plot that Mr Bean could have worked out quicker than this bunch of idiots I know the whole point was that they don't play by the rules, but the blat...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Has any body seen 'Revolution' yet? The new show from the creator of Supernatural, directed by Iron Mans' Jon Favreau and produced by JJ Abrahms? Another dystopian future, this time caused by everything electronic going dead at the same time and not coming back on. It's only the first episode, but I...

Re: What pissed you off today

Finally given the news yesterday that the company I work for have entered administration. We knew it was bad, and knew that redundancies were coming but didn't expect it to be so bad. Basically the company has no cash at all, so can't afford to pay us up until now. We're obviously owed that pay and ...

Re: What has made you happy today

So far managed to stay fairly out of the way of everyone having been at work and whatnot... I seem to be the only one who doesn't see my birthday as a big deal. I'm the same. I've never been too bothered about birthdays, or presents for that matter. It's just another day. Unlike the wife who has to...

Re: A driving thread

Yeah I do feel for you if you're having to fund the whole thing yourself because a very large proportion of teenage drivers these days (myself included) were spoilt by their parents and had it all paid for Was never going to happen for me, my parents income just about covered the bills and food, I ...

With stuff like this: http://www.bloodstock.uk.com/community//viewtopic.php?f=20&t=36299 The need to at least have a license should be a high priority. As has been said, it greatly increases job prospects and your options. Even if you don't intend to get a car, being able to drive is a good skil...

Re: movies

Went to see The Bourne Legacy and Expendables 2 last night. The Bourne Legacy: I personally thought it was perfect, considering what they had to work with. The only way they could have improved it was by getting Paul Greengrass back. The new lead, Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner) is a good replacement fo...

Starting to think I should have been much more careful with my sunburn, the skin under the peelings and flakings is very red and raw.. it's not going to heal before I go back to work tomorrow, and I can't put my make-up on. Poo. Factor 50, waterproof, hypo-allergenic sunblock 4tW! P20. 12 hour prot...

Re: What has made you happy today

Went to Thinktank in Birmingham. Didn't realise how kiddy it was. The only bit I did enjoy was looking at the locomotive and few war era motorcycles in the bottom part. Quite disappointed with it, but it did kill 3 hours (5 if you include watching Ice Age 4 on the massive screen also in the complex...
