Re: Next announcement

Far more likely to be Behemoth than Helloween. Helloween would expect to headline and Bloodstock obviously don't see them as headliners, despite the fact they're playing the same venues on their UK tour as Lamb of God... Plus, us whinging buggers from the indoor days have already been given our toke...

Re: Vicky's Gone Then

Whilst Vicky of course doesn't deserve direct abuse or threats (correct me if I'm wrong but I haven't seen any such content), this is very different to receiving criticism or reading the opinions other people have about her character based on the way she presents herself on social media, which she h...

Re: Next announcement

Speaking as someone who actually quite likes Trivium's output since 'In Waves' in 2011 when Matt Heafy started incorporating better clean vocals (didn't like them before that), I still don't think they should headline. When they played in 2015 it was the smallest crowd I've ever seen for a BOA headl...

Re: Next announcement

I've never heard of Sleep Token so I don't know what the controversy around their booking is, but this announcement certainly hasn't done anything to persuade me to buy a weekend ticket. It's looking like another Saturday day ticket for Mercyful Fate again for me. I like Testament and NFO but other ...

Was interesting to hear the Anselmo announcement get booed in the arena.

Really? (I was only there on the Saturday). That's good to hear.

Re: The Wrestling Thread

It's certainly been better than WWE recently for the simple fact that they've had fans in - WWE's shows at the 'Thunderdome' without any real fans have absolutely killed the product - although I'd be lying if I said I didn't fast-forward through some of Dynamite's segments.

Trump's goose looks to be thoroughly cooked :woo: :drink: I was just about to post something similar  Watching that orange sack of shit descend into tantrum-fuelled madness has been entertaining, if not somewhat concerning that the leader of what is supposed to be the world's leading example o...

Re: What's upset you?

I know what you mean. When lockdown restrictions were first eased to the point where separate households could meet again in an outside setting, I went to meet a friend in the local park for a couple of hours and the mental boost that gave me was really noticeable. I hadn't realised up to that point...

Re: The rather morbid celebrity RIP Thread.

Not a 'celebrity' but posting because he was a friend of mine and long-time Bloodstock attendees will remember Conquest of Steel, but I'm sad to say that their singer, Dan Durrant, has passed away. Apparently he suffered a fall whilst out running. RIP Dan. Always was a pleasure to be around

Re: Necessity of a Smart-Phone

Of course it depends what you mean by 'essential' but I do think a smart-phone is required in this day and age for many things and would potentially put you at a disadvantage if you didn't have one. That said, I just upgraded my smart-phone and the total cost of the phone was only £130 and it does e...

That quote could be applied to pretty much anything related to the festival - she hardly comes across as the most professional or diplomatic person in the world at the best of times.

Freedom of Movement isn't as unrestricted as the right-wing media suggest (or at least, it doesn't have to be):

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

No response to the election result then? I'm assuming you're all still in shock or in a state of depression. It looks like the Labour/Green coalition predicted by this forum's voting intentions was way off the mark. I'm not particularly shocked. In hindsight, Labour's brexit message should have bee...

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

If you put Corbyn's policies in most European countries they'd be seen as left-of-centre but hardly viewed as radically socialist. It's just that the UK has adopted such a neo-liberalist approach to capitalism that it's become so dominant and is often presented as the only realistic option. Anythin...
