Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
And United buying trophies? Not a chance. £87m is a drop in the ocean for us. We can afford to be flippant with transfers, Glad to see you say it yourself I am actually quietly looking forward to this WC. I don't think we'll win, but I think we have a team / system that has the potential to beat an...

What?
I've got to stop posting when i'm knackered
Spurs have finished higher than any other London club for the first time since '95

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
(case in point of perspective) Maybe have been painful and a slump over the finishing line but we've made it into the top 4 and into the CL for the 3rd season running, which is what I had hoped for this season so mission accomplished. Hopefully we can build on this and make it further in Europe next...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Let's look at the last time United won the league in 2012-13. So tell me, how can we be accused of buying trophies if we mostly buy players who haven't won much silverware before? You've won three more trophies since then with teams that are quite different to the one that year (5 players remain) s...

Because the FA haven't got round to squandering the money from selling off Wembley yet, give it a few years and they'll underfund that idea too

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Twofold congrats to Liverpool, not only did you make the final but you did it in a very entertaining manner, the drama last night was great. I hope that the final sees both teams continue on as they have, slightly dodgy defenses and stellar attacking players to make for a high scoring match! And Uni...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
For me, top prizes for Spurs would be 1. Champions League 2. Premiership 3. Europa 4. 4th or above in Prem ------- Anything below would be an unsuccessful season 5. Europa qualifying spots 6. FA Cup 7. League cup Surely winning either domestic cup competition is better than getting a UEFA Cup quali...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
It depends on how you look at things really, obviously I'd love Spurs to win the league and would say that's the ultimate domestic goal but I would say 4th is a minimum barometer of success and one in that if they failed to reach then I'd say the season was unsuccessful even with a (non European) tr...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have Pochettino now. Why he has such unwavering supports amongst Spurs fans is a mystery to me. Yes he's technically right when he says you need to win the Prem or the CL to be a big club, but when you're out of the running for both those trophies there is no excuse...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Nobody's mentioned Wenger yet? Can't seem to escape it today  Coming from a Spurs fan, I've always liked Wenger as a manager, his style of managing is a great yet dying art; if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have Pochettino now. Unfortunately it's a style that relies on long term planning and a ...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Not lose to the team rock bottom of the league at home, you also gift your rivals the title; painful day to be a Utd fan. Jose was somewhat calm which was a shame; was hoping for him going mental again

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
The last two days has seen some of the best CL I've seen in awhile, was very entertaining and a roller coaster ride throughout. Usually find it quite underwhelming at times, while I understand teams don't want to lose rather than win, it does make for some boring viewing. Good to see some teams go o...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
showed that we have plenty of goalscorers other than Kane It's not just that we can score without Kane. It's how we did it. Eriksen's goal and Dele's first were both spectacular. For sure, Eriksen is overlooked yet has a habit of scoring some great goals from range. Got to admit, Chelsea fans have ...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread
Great result yesterday, think we gave a very good account of ourselves and managed to have Chelsea on the back foot for most of the match, showed that we have plenty of goalscorers other than Kane. If we can keep it up and beat Utd at Old Trafford we could even feasibly finish 2nd which is no mean f...
