Funnily enough I was going to use that moniker on here when I first signed up and someone already had it. Gandalf was also taken.

There is a band called Gandalf the Green: https://gandalfthegreen.bandcamp.com/

Niki Lauda died yesterday at 70. He won two F1 World Championships after a horrendous crash in 1967 where he suffered third degree burns to his face. What a guy.

Re: The UK political thread (formerly independence thread)

Government to lose vote by 150-200, Corbyn to continue doing nothing, referendum on terms of leaving called to gain mandate for the government to act towards either new deal or leaving without a deal, A50 delayed/withdrawn depending on what the EU will wearily accept from May who continues to refus...

Re: The rather morbid celebrity RIP Thread.

Former Liberal Democrat leader Paddy Ashdown has died. I mostly remember him for promising to eat his hat if the Conservatives won a majority in the 2015 General Election.

Re: What should happen with Brexit?

If it was a 3 choice question (or 2 stage ballot) and both deal and no deal are offered as options then you effectively solve the problem. A three choice question wouldn't work as you can't go with a 34% victory in a referendum. A two-stage ballot might be OK with the first question being something...

Re: What should happen with Brexit?

that being said, i work in Stoke and the majority of people i work with are the kind of idiots who think leaving the EU = fewer muslims and there's absolutely no arguing with that level of stupidity, so the turkeys will continue to vote for Christmas unfortunately. Less Polish and Romanian people p...

Re: What should happen with Brexit?

What makes you opposed to a second referendum over a GE? Given the GE is going to revolve (again) around Brexit surely they'd both be uncomfortable? I am more opposed to another General Election. The country doesn't need more upheaval and Labour won't be able to do a better job. I am unconvinced ab...

Re: What should happen with Brexit?

As hard as I try to understand this argument I just can't agree with it, though I accept plenty feel this way. Could you elaborate for me: - Why is it undemocratic to ask again? Leave is still on the table and given every faction (for lack of better term) has to compromise with the deal on the tabl...

Re: What should happen with Brexit?

Remain. We've had 2 years of this fucking nonsense. Enough. David Cameron should be fucking lynched for unleashing this shitpocalypse on the country. I agree with all this. David Cameron fucked up big time by calling the referendum. What a dumb idea that was. Everything was fine before that. I have...
