Re: Next Announcement

If that was written by someone in the BOA team it would explain why we don't get many folk bands as they don't know what folk metal is. It wasn't written by any of the BOA team, it was just a regular fan. No, from memory it was written by Simon Hall, who books the Sophie, Unsigned and Jaeger stages.

Re: Next Announcement

It may be worth pointing out why the festival existed in the first place. It was started because Saxon wanted to play a UK date and no promoter would put them on. So their friend put his money where his mouth was and booked a venue and filled it with some of his favourite and local bands. Then he d...

Re: The Voting Age

Just raise it back to 21 If they remove income tax and NI contributions from your pay until you're 21 too then fine. Why do you believe those things should be linked? Income tax is needed to fund running the country. NI is used to fund benefits. Neither of which have any bearing on voting age. It's...

Having just checked a video on YouTube, I think Soul Shredder have potential, but her voice has a way to go. But maybe it was an older video, if you're saying she's improved.

Re: Next Announcement

It's amazing how they've managed to turn what many were saying was shaping to be a the best lineup in years into one that no one cares about  Really? For me, it's still the best lineup they've had in years. Sure, I could do without Parkway Drive, Cancer Bats, Code Orange and Thy Art Is Murder....

I think I can sum things up fairly succinctly: I'm not the target audience for this.

Not really. It was nearly all death metal, with very little actual folk metal.

Re: W.A.S.P

I love the band, and they can still cut it live, even if their headline show last time I saw them was waaay shorter than I felt was reasonable. But they've blotted their copybook and I doubt we'll see them back at Bloodstock.

Not a bad band, but their live performances rely far too heavily on backing tapes.

I'd be more than happy to see them back at Bloodstock, particularly after the aforementioned HRH Vikings show, which was by far the highlight of the weekend for me.

Re: Astral Doors

They're not huge, but they play respectable sized venues when they come over here. They headlined at The Underworld when I last saw them. Easily big enough to warrant a Sophie stage slot.

Heh. For a opposite point of view, I thought they were very weak when they played the Jaeger stage, and I'm in no hurry to see them again.

I'd be overjoyed to see Unleash The Archers at Bloodstock, but I won't be getting my hopes up.

Re: PARKWAY DRIVE - CONFIRMED AS BLOODSTOCK 2019 SATURDAY NIGHT HEADLINER

A comment on the Bloodstock Facebook page: Look Black Sabbath and Metallica and ACDC got their fame and fortune in a year where they have no competition. If they had to compete with bands like lamb of God Killswitch Engage Parkway Drive sikth jinja System of a Down Gojira then I can honestly say the...
