Re: TV: Current and Recent

To be fair to Game of Thrones, wasn't this series the first half of a book? Of course the most exciting parts come in the second half (next series). I agree with Sam though, I just don't care, although the nature of this kind of fantasy is that different people like different characters.

Re: Computer Games Thread

The price does surprise me as they can't be making much profit on it, but I'm now leaning more towards getting a ps4 first just for the price, though I'll likely get an Xbox one later on because the exclusives are just far better. Either way still keeping my 360. What exclusives do they have? There...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

So......I finally got round to watching episode 9 of GoT after avoiding all the spoilers and everyone losing their shit over the ending. Loved the episode but im kinda disappointed at the same time. Everyone seemed to put a lot of hype and it just didn't meet that hype for me. But still a great epi...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Navas is a brilliant player, if he overcomes the travel issues and the physicality of it he could be brilliant. If you get Cavani as well you should be laughing. I was thinking the same about Pellegrini though, there were better names they could have got, although it could work. It doesn't bode well...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

If your looking at history you could say there are loads of "big" teams though. At one time Preston and Accrinton were the biggest in the league or even the world, same with Leeds, West Ham, Bradford, Forest etc. At the moment I'd say Liverpool are a mid-table team, or at best in the secon...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Its not as bad as it looks, you have 5 clubs there with no manager, and 3 of those have just had long term managers walk out on them. There are only really 5 or 6 clubs who aren't willing to give managers a chance (Chelsea being the most obvious), but it also says a lot about managers wanting to lea...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

If Monaco don't win something next season, they'll look like a right bunch of knobheads  I want Monaco to turn into the French league equivalent of QPR, spending inordinate amounts of money on players of varying levels of quality only to be relegated anyway. But then that's probably because i'...

Re: Computer Games Thread

But the majority of people dont want a console that only plays games, they want one device for games movies music and tv. Most people already have TV and music players. I can understand things like DVD players in them can be useful, but most people already have one of those too. Besides which, the ...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Computers are far more customisable. You can make one for gaming, designing, whatever you need it for. Consoles are one size fits all, with at best little customisation. Its not as adaptable. Either way of course, Microsoft win. Never saw the point in them bringing out a console in the first place i...

I don't get the big fuss over that. You know basically what it looks like - a box with a disc slot in it. Knowing what it does is more important, surely?

Re: Computer Games Thread

not all details are released at the reveal skippy. We havent even see the ps4 yet it was announced first. Remember the world is full of stupid people who cannot handle too much information in one go like we can  My point was that people seem more annoyed at what has been confirmed rather than ...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Microsoft had these kind of complaints before, and their basic reply was "deal with it" No. There was one guy at microsoft who said that and guess what? He doesnt work for microsoft since that comment. all i keep hearing is misquotes and rumours, why cant people wait for real details to b...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Its basically become a computer in all the worst ways. Forget updatable graphics and modable games, what people really want from the PC are the bullshit hoops and always online DRM. I didn't even know there was a problem with piracy on consoles - can you get torrents on the Xbox? Unless its to to st...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

£40m plus Dzeko? Jesus that's a bit much. I think Cavani's one of the best in the world, but there's no guarantee he'll be good, so losing a decent playing in Dzeko (wasn't he Man City's top goalscorer last year) and loads of money is a bit of a risk. I love all the stick Carroll gets, he's a qualit...
