Re: TV: Current and Recent

The thing is with Sherlock, that was only the 8th? episode of it. Even if your a massive fan and watching every episode multiple times, you can't get as attached to characters you haven't seen that much of (aside from the main two, I keep forgetting who everyone is, and even with those two, their ba...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

That Sherlock somehow managed to be even worse than the first episode. OK, it wasn't a complete mess - it was just massively boring. An hour and a half of a fucking wedding...that's not what this show should be about. OK, there was some mystery thrown in, almost as if they got about halfway through ...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Dat Sherlock. ...was dreadful. Honestly, a load of utter bollocks, just trying to be flashy and mysterious without telling any kind of story whatsoever. Martin Freeman was the only believable character, while the story telling could have been condensed into about 10 minutes...absolutely nothing was...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Thats the best part of this year I think. Noone knew what to expect before starting - last year it was kind of obvious Man United were gonna win, they didn't have the best squad but noone else really looked up for a challenge. It was pretty much over by Christmas, and was a pretty boring season afte...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

I thought it was the best Doctor Who episode in a long time. Much better than the 50th Anniversary one. This one made sense (somewhat), was well acted, and quite sad in places. That regeneration scene dragged on though.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Wow football clubs seem to like firing managers lately (sorry - "mutual consent"). Spurs were always gonna struggle this year, but to be honest they never should have gotten rid of Redknapp. AVB deserved more of a chance. West Brom getting rid of Clarke was more surprising though, he hasn'...

Re: TV: Current and Recent

I know I'm late to the party and everything but I have to say I thought the Dexter ending was pretty good (yes I'm gonna spoil it if anyone hasn't seen it). OK, the lumberjack bit was pretty lame, but the death scenes and Dexter sailing off into the sunset was handled quite well, and was emotional e...

Re: Computer Games Thread

It's the principle, it just smacks of greed. Yes it's optional, but it's still part of a game that has been smashing sales records and has already made an obscene amount of money. It's not like this is some £15 indie game, this is GTA 5. There's no need to have micro transactions in the game. Its n...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

I'd say Man City are looking less convincing, United are still somehow getting wins. Eh? They've won, drawn and lost as many games as us...but yes they are more convincing right now the quality of opposition is higher for their first 5 games so that's worth acknowledging. Yeah they lost to Liverpoo...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

I'd say Man City are looking less convincing, United are still somehow getting wins. Chelsea aren't exactly setting the world on fire with Mourinho either. I think Liverpool are going to start sucking again in a month or two, and neither Spurs nor Arsenal look consistent enough either. Unfortunately...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Why the hell did anyone bother queuing for it? Pre-order it online if you really care so much, but there'll still be copies of it available tomorrow, its not so hard to wait.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Haha I'm in the same boat, I support Gillingham (not as strongly as I used to I must admit), and it looks like we're not all to steady at the moment either. I guess thats the trouble with promotions - you're probably just gonna go back down the next year.

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

We're dealing with people from Bristol here, so using logical thought probably isn't on their list of agendas. Plus all of than inbreeding too... ...or they just don't want to pay the extortionate price to cross the bridge and get into a country that smells of sheep shit. Not to mention the f...

Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

That's quite a distance to travel to watch Championship football. They could go to Cardiff and watch Premier League. :eyes: We're dealing with people from Bristol here, so using logical thought probably isn't on their list of agendas. Re: The (Un) Official Football thread

Yeah, there's always been something wrong at a grass roots level. All the papers go on about how bad it is for England, they haven't won anything in nearly 50 years, and never mention the fact that Wales and Scotland are the bottom two in a group that features fucking Macedonia. As a Welshman its pr...
