Re: Helloween 2022

I didn't realise UDO had been announced as support previously, will def take HammerFall over them (him?) though. Does anyone know if this is still supposed to be a Pumpkins Reunited show? Well it's a rescheduled thing from the Pumpkins Reunited this year, so I would assume so. Ditto Hammerfall, far...

Epica's Omega is ace, way better than their last album.

Re: Next Announcement

Still seems unlikely to go ahead.

Kretaor very good replacement for Mercyful Fate though. You could argue not big enough, but they're massively popular.

Re: The Still drinking But in Isolation thread

First (mild) hangover since NYE today. Uffffff. My body can tolerate alcohol so much less as I go through my 30s, I only had 6 cans of beer  Oh, it gets even worse with time. I'm pushing 50 now and if I stick to beer only I'm generally OK. I can just sleep it off. Start mixing it with red wine...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

The latest government announcement finally gave me some hope that outdoor events in some shape or form might happen during the summer. Light. Tunnels. Optimism. That's an absolute best case scenario though, I would be extremely surprised if it all goes to plan and everything's back to normal ...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

As Vicky said there will be a contingency plan if the fest can’t go ahead. I'm guessing it will be a one day fest with all english bands. Hopefully, this year will get pushed to 2022 and we keep MF. I think even the one day of British bands, or festival with 5000 people are massively unlikely, they...

Re: 2021 albums

That was interesting. I seem to like the new therion more than you do though. Really don't find anything interesting about the new Therion album, it seems they've forgotten how to put anything remotely memorable in their songs, it's just pompous symphonic farting around with no real songs. The only...

Re: 2021 albums

I think the awkwardness of vinyl is one of the main attractions tbh, ie the old school cinematic experience, I've got Cradle's remastered Cruelty on double red vinyl, and it's constant flipping and swapping with only 3 songs on each side, but that's part of the fun eh? You've clearly got a differen...

Depressing but pretty likely.

With May gigs being cancelled, its only a matter of time before big June festivals follow suit, and then August festivals.

Damnation has a massive question mark hanging over it, as do any December fests like that.

So it begins, same with Incineration fest, back to 2022.

June fests and gigs will be next, then August fests.

Tribulation's Where The Gloom Becomes Sound is very good, same style as the last 2 albums, and that's good with me.

Gonna acquire Tribulation today, wouldn't need to download it if the record had arrived in time, but seeing as I won't be getting it until next week, it's downloading time.

Re: 2021 albums

I can't justify the price of vinyl, 20 quid for most new releases at least. Add to that I'm a lazy bastard and can't be arsed to keep getting up and turning the things over. I still buy CDs of albums I really like, about a dozen to fifteen a year nowadays, but generally rip them to flac and never t...

Re: 2021 albums

Last album I bought on CD was Ward XVI's Metamorphosis, wasn't released on vinyl and wasn't going on Spotify. Before that.....no idea it's been a while. Have started listening to my records a lot more in the last year because we moved house and there's actually space for my turntable. Working from ...
