Re: Strategy Board Games

Horrified is definitely simpler than Pandemic, though it can depend which monsters you're playing (the mechanics to beat each are different). As for Pandemic player roles, I believe in the rules it states you're meant to pick them at random. Have you managed to beat it on the hardest difficulty set...

Re: Guess what date gigs will be back to normal (no social distancing)

hmmm, so many variables here, but mainly dependent on future spikes, when cinema etc re-open fully, when gyms are back to normal....gigs will be the LAST thing to happen.

I'll go for March 2021.

Definitely not this year anyway.

Re: Strategy Board Games

If you're into Co-op games, Pandemic is a brilliant strategy game. Genuinely challenging whilst still being fun. . Picked up Pandemic a few months ago, and we love it, great fun and gets very frantic towards the end. I've found the best way to play it is for people to get the task roles at random r...

Re: Next Announcement

The mention of Draconian Times was dropped from the poster when this year's fest was cancelled so I don't think they're doing it anymore, certainly not seen it mentioned as such a set since. One of the festival team confirmed on Facebook earlier that they would be playing Draconium Times’ That's a ...

Re: What's upset you?

Yeah it's getting to me too. Didn't hit me until this weekend. :( Meh was it that bad? The weather was nice at the weekend and you were spared from witnessing a horrific BOA line up, plus the virtual fest was fun. Yea I agree the line up isn't great but I still missed that weekend away from it all ...

Re: Next Announcement

Well that's possibly the best headliner Bloodstock have ever had, and makes a hideous line up quite bearable. Dimmu in special guest slot is a proper cop out though, they ain't big enough for that slot these days, and having been releasing tripe for the last 2 decades. I'm still going to Brutal Assa...

They packed up Shepherds Bush Empire over a year ago, so pretty big.

I wouldn't say headliner big though, more like 3rd from top.

Re: European Metal Festival Alliance

Rather odd to have a new set from Gutalax instead of a recorded live one. Their set at Brutal Assault last year was the most amazing thing ever, and a lockdown recording won't be the same.

Re: Next Announcement

Can someone explain the virtual fest to me cos I haven't bothered to read about it....is it old sets at festivals being streamed, or new sets they've recorded in lockdown or are playing live? Also do you have to pay to watch it?

Re: Strategy Board Games

My parents are obsessed with Catan, always play it with them when I go to visit. I got them the Seafarers expansion pack a while ago, which makes the games much better. They also recently got Ticket To Ride which I've played with them and the grandkids, and it seems great fun. My dad is currently ob...

Re: Next Announcement

With the extra day just being a few bands on Sophie. What? The extra day is a full day with main stage bands. No it's not. The festival clarified this in response to a question on Facebook. The Weds & Thurs next year are just the Sophie, New Blood & Jager stages. No main stage bands. Ah OK,...

Re: Next Announcement

So, they deleted my account for posting that screenshot. Hilarious, although I'm surprised they even bothered to do that considering how little interest they have in this forum. What with destroying the forum a few years ago, and now banning regulars for petty reasons, they clearly don't want peopl...
