Re: What made you Lol Today?
With the dress colour, I'm convinced there's more than one image circulating, as I've seen it as both dependent on image. It's all about the white balance, background light, and the fact it's in its own shadow.

Re: movies
What else is there other that Pineapple Express, This Is The End and The Interview? Was Your Highness not a Rogan/Franco movie? Which was fucking horrendous. James Franco and David Gordon Green are the link between the two. I had been working though David Gordon Greens films. I really liked All The...

Re: A free-for-all thread
I got really annoyed by it until I realised it was a satire on the gritty remake trend.
There's a legit film coming out next year though. Of which I have mixed feelings.

Re: A free-for-all thread
I tried Ardbeg 10y/o in the cocktail bar the other weekend. Lovely complex flavour that I was doing my best to savour given how much I paid. Wanna try the Uigeadail one next. Don't bother with Jura Origin (10) by the way. Tastes nice but wholly uninteresting for the money. Prophecy is the only Jura...

Re: A free-for-all thread
Yeah, likewise. I was lucky enough that work had a good budget for my birthday and one of them was clever enough to email my girlfriend, resulting in me getting a bottle of Ardbeg 10yo, and I've since got a bottle of Laphroig 10yo for Christmas too. So I've not done too bad this last 6 months for wh...

Re: movies
Blimy. Not sure how I feel about that. It's pretty lengthy as it is. There's not a lot was left out either if memory serves. I'd probably watch out of curiosity, but sometimes with film, less can be more.

Re: movies
Cloud Atlas Admittedly a bit delayed with this one, but finally got around to it. I get what it wants to do, the story between time yadda yadda. However what you end up with a jumbled mess of characters you can't really connect to, fleeting around timelines and characters without every really letti...

I'm quite enjoying reading you're reviews, a lot better structured and more eloquently put than mine have been recently haha.

Re: movies
Just watched Baraka. To say it was good is an understatement. There's not plot or dialogue, but I found it more beautiful and moving that a lot of the films than I've seen in the last year.

Re: last dvd/bluray i bought
Ah I forgot you were overseas.
I think I still consider myself relatively new to film, so there's still a lot for me to explore. I get the impression you've already amassed a pretty substantial collection of films. Whereas I suppose I'm still building that collection.

Either no one else buys films, or no one else cares, but this is fast turning into my personal thread haha

Yeah, I also spotted that today. I think I'll be opting out of that if possible.

Re: movies
Enter The Void - Frustrating. At times it looks glorious, and certainly tries to do something new, and is like nothing I've ever seen. But it's at least an hour too long. I think after about 80mins or so it just looses it's focus which it only really regains in the last ten minutes or so. 3 fists, t...
