Re: movies

Was bored this morning so went to the early showing of Knives Out - great cast, Danial Craig with a Louisana drawl was odd but his Columbo esque detective was fun. Hopefully there will be another one with him. Looking at the end if year lists, found a Swedish sci fi called Aniara about a doomed spa...

Re: Next Announcement

We tend to leave after the Sunday main stage headliner, so I'm hoping UTA aren't being bumped up!

Re: Next Announcement

I've predicted its Hatebreed, but being moved to headline the Thursday sophie stage instead of Sunday.

Re: Strategy Board Games

Another good one is Betrayal at the House on the Hill. Starts as a co-op game and ends up being a 1 vs the rest. First half of the game you explore a house (build from scratch each time by laying tiles, so it's never really the same). At a certain point you trigger the 'haunt' and the second half of...

Re: Strategy Board Games

Horrified is definitely simpler than Pandemic, though it can depend which monsters you're playing (the mechanics to beat each are different). As for Pandemic player roles, I believe in the rules it states you're meant to pick them at random. Have you managed to beat it on the hardest difficulty sett...

Re: Next Announcement

Yeah, basically the Wednesday has a handful of bands on the Sophie stage, as per the usual opening night. On the Thursday, we get a full extra day of bands on the Sophie, New Blood and Jagermeister stages :)

Re: Strategy Board Games

If you're into Co-op games, Pandemic is a brilliant strategy game. Genuinely challenging whilst still being fun. Along similar lines, I picked up Horrified recently. A co-op game where you have to defeat Universal Studios horror monsters (Dracula, The Mummy, etc). Both of the above require a certain...

Re: What's upset you?

Upset is a strong word for it, but I'm definitely feeling the lockdown restrictions at this point. I'm usually quite a soaciable person and will often spend multiple days per week meeting up with various folks (on top of booking/promoting gigs here). Since lockdown, I've seen something like 4 people...

Re: Next Announcement

That's a sizable increase in capacity added this year then. I don't think the capacity has changed. Of the people that had bought 2020 ticket, 92% of them rolled over to 2021 (8% got refunds). Including rolled over tickets, they have sold 78% of their cap for 2021. To me, that means that they had s...

Re: Next Announcement

Another interesting tidbit, 92% of 2020 ticket holders rolled over and they have sold 78% of their 2021 tickets already thanks to it. Apparently when they announced the postponement they actually had a spike in ticket sales.

My guess is Hatebreed. I can't see who else was on the bill that they haven't re-announced yet, would be one described as asked for a fair bit. Idle Hands at a push maybe?

Vicky did an interview with one of the chaps behind Damnation. Interesting watch/listen - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvMXQiamAUw&fbclid=IwAR2_tbLA_WAk2kjn4Q3O3hjlnXA1M5R4kM2K4erIQNrCW_eP7vmqEWKyAa0 Confirmed that two headliners for 2022 are already locked in (they were meant to be at 2021 a...

I've been trying to find out about that myself. When I asked, the response I got was along the lines of 'maybe moved, maybe split across the two'.

Re: Next Announcement

I mean, it's literally less than £7. If you're free that weekend and want access to a mixture of lockdown sets and some old festival performance footage from a dozen festivals, then it's less than the cost of 2 festival pints.

Re: Orden Ogan London Show

Looks like Wind Rose are still trying to get added to the London show if they can make it work. Sounds like it was Brothers of Metal that couldn't do it.
