Re: movies

Andrew.. Tbh, things don't really jump out during Avatar. Not like most of the 3D movies this year when they use it ONLY to throw objects straight at you. Avatar is much more subtle and uses it to build an atmosphere and draw you into the experience. The Alien movies aren't hprror..more sci-fi acti...

Re: movies

There are some films out on 3D blu-ray with the glasses I believe, I haven't had the chance to check one out yet though. I would like to. Blu-Ray or Standard, it'll still be the Red/Green glasses which really do take from how watchable the films are. I tried to watch My Bloody Valentine in 3D with ...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Anyone heard anything about Bayonetta? It got 10/10 in this months Edge, and similar reviews in other mags. To me it just looks like a DMC clone, but having never played it I could be very wrong... 10/10 in Edge? They`re pretty tight with their scores normally as well...I played the demo of this an...

Re: Computer Games Thread

I`l be buying Left4Dead2 sometime this week for the 360. I still play the first one a lot now 6 months after buying it, probably the greatest game ever!

Re: The Book thread

Just reading Philip K. Dick's book 'Time Out Of Joint' at the moment. Very interesting, and intriguing! Philip K DIck was a genius, I`ve read just about all of his books. I`ve just finished Chasm City by Alastair Reynolds, second book I`ve read by him and I`ll definately carry on reading more. Abou...

Re: movies

Im not sure how they messed up the X-Men films(the amount of comics and storied going about, they had some awesome material to work with) They were so awefull, most of the characters in the film were so far off the characters personalities in the comics. Apart from xavier and logan, the rest of the...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Well, Andrew, I have read / heard a few reports that suggest most multi-platform games look better on the 360 than the PS3. I`m not sure how true this is or how large the difference is...but a lot of people seem to say it. I`m not really bothered about having a blu-ray player on my computer, the who...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Thanks for the responses, I`m still on the fence haha. It must be said I could do with a new computer as well...but I do like to wallow on a big fat sofa in front of a huge TV playing games rather than hunch over my computer screen...and I do tend to sit in front of this thing too often anyway! I`ve...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Thanks for the replies, I feared it wouldn`t be easy :D Are all the PS3 exclusives cack?? MGS4, Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Uncharted and the forthcoming Killzone 2 and Ridge Racer 7 all look fantastic from the trailers. But then, Gears of War 2, Left4Dead, Halo 3...it`s tough! A big lottery wi...

Re: Computer Games Thread

Without trying to start an argument...would people recomment a 360 or a PS3? I`ll be buying one or the other over the next 4-6 weeks. The PS3 tempts me because of blu-ray and it seems to have plenty of great games but I keep reading that the multi platform games are always much better on the 360 and...

Re: The Book thread

I`ve become incredibly taken by China Meiville lately. Anyone else read his books? I`m reading the stuff set in and around New Crobuzon at the moment...Perdido Street Station, the first book, is particularly wonderful. He`s a fantastically evocative writer, his books are quite dark and wildly imagin...
