Re: What's upset you?

Well most people don't need anywhere near that much.

I work in CGI effects for films. We need all the RAM and GPU power we can get.

Re: What's upset you?

My colleague behind me got a brand spanking new computer with 128Gb RAM and a £5000 24Gb graphics card in it. He's now sitting spinning one of his work scenes around in high speed to show off.

I'm fucking jelly. Seriously. I need a new machine.

Re: 2016 Booze + prices

They're doing this jager cocktail thing. "A blend of Jägermeister with passion fruit syrup, sparkling grapefruit and garnished with a slice of blood orange will be served at Jägermeister stage bar & in the Serpents Lair VIP bar!!" Oh, so not Pimm's. I was going to say, the combination...

Re: Wacken ban bags, BOA seem to be considering it?

You're surprised that sometimes Heavy Metal fans might not be supporters of religious law? Really? That's not what he said. He said he's surprised that there are people who actually believe that elements of fundamental religion are being covertly introduced into European law. Perhaps you threw out ...

Re: Wacken ban bags, BOA seem to be considering it?

It genuinely surprises me that there are so many heavily right leaning people on here who think the government are trying to covertly introduce elements of fundamental Islam into our law system and society, that's chemtrails tin-foil-hat wearing levels of stupidity. Going back to when I first start...

And here I thought I was bad for getting properly annoyed when Sainsbury's didn't have any saffron on their spice shelf the other day.

Re: TV: Current and Recent

Stranger Things is damn good. I binged the entire series on Saturday. It has its flaws but on the whole it was excellent, a really nostalgic throwback to the films I grew up with. Great casting, good storytelling, mostly good pacing. Some dodgy effects work but that's to be expected in a TV series ...

Really? I've never been to Wacken myself. To be honest, I actually feel more nervous when I see armed patrols than I ordinarily would. Go figure.

Re: Wacken ban bags, BOA seem to be considering it?

If yhen want to implement a seperate queue for bags, etc, and search them, that's reasonable. If yiou want to take your bag, join the slower queue. An outright ban gets into what we used to call "letting the terrorists win", that is, where you significantly change what you do as a result ...

Re: Anyone know the policy on water bottles / pouches?

And if you feel that strongly about the festival food, it's just a quick trip back to the campsite. I stay in a hotel though. For me, a festival is a working weekend; if I'm not in the pits shooting, I'm in the press tent dumping photos and prepping them for editorial. I usually make a bit of time ...

Re: Weather

Metcheck currently has a wet Sunday but dry the rest of the time. It's really too far ahead to make any kind of even halfway reliable guess at the weather, so don't put much stock in that. I guess the best thing to do is always to come prepared for any weather. I'm going to take along waterproofs a...

Re: Anyone know the policy on water bottles / pouches?

Seriously? You can't have attended many events as a punter then. I can't think of ANY that allows you to bring your own food or drink. Every single time I ever attended Download Festival as a punter, I had no problem bringing in sandwiches and salads I'd bought at M&S in Derby. And since workin...

Re: Anyone know the policy on water bottles / pouches?

You're not forced though, your wristband allows access in and out and back in to the arena so can go to the campsite and eat your own food if you choose. Thinking of festivals I've been to recently: BOA, Download, HRH & Hammerfest, Hardwick Live....none of them let you take your own food into t...

Re: Anyone know the policy on water bottles / pouches?

I guess I just have a problem with the principle of it. Why should people be forced to eat food from the vendors? To me, taking away that choice is unacceptable. With the exception of Delikate, in my opinion, festival food is absolutely fucking disgusting. I won't touch it. It's tasteless, unhealthy...
