Yeah I get that it's important, but, for example, everytime you got in the car with your partner and you had to choose who was going to get to play their music this time... it would get a bit grating.

Dunno, I think it's a great piece of shared interest to like similar sorts of music... otherwise even things like a car ride start involving compromises.
